Default Corrision X (Or any rust prevention)

Hey everyone,

I'm moving from Columbus GA to Watertown NY due to work... Having only driving in the Northwest and the south, rust from salt was not really an issue. So now that I'll be in NY, does anyone know any good rust prevention business (like Krown, etc) in the Watertown/Ft Drum area? Anything pertaining to saving my car is welcomed.

Thank you

How old is your car?

To be honest the main issue here isnt the snow or bad weather, it the salt they spray on the roads. While rust protection wont hurt and isnt a bad idea, it isnt necessarily needed as long as you wash/powerwash all the salt off the car and under the car.

With that said any detail shop worth anything should be able to do this.

Thats exactly what my concern would be. You let that road salt sit on your car for a week and you will see it start attacking your car. I would also try and avoid driving your car when storms hit and it gets messy. I know every time i think i am safe to drive i run into a truck spraying sand and salt and it scratches the s*** out of your car...

The only undercoating place around here uses Ziebart, which I heard is a gooey mess from hell.

There's an automated car wash that cost $8 that sprays the underside of the car... I'm only going to be here for 1 winter so that might be my option.

Anyone else from the Ft Drum area?

if you're going to be here for on winter, and your car is a newer gen model, you're honestly over thinking it. just wash time when you can and you will be fine.

There are quite a few Subarus up that way but they never spend time on here. Most all tri-state events/meets are not applicable to them so they have their own forums and do their own thing. Cnysubies.com
