Question 1999 legacy 2.2L Not Firing on Rear Coils

I have a customer that just did a 2.2L used motor swap on a 1999 Legacy. The old motor chucked a rod but everything ran fine. The used motor was purchased and water pump/timing belt was changed out for new. The used motor was installed and now there is no spark firing from the two rear posts of the coil pack. New coil pack has been installed and cam/crank sensors have been installed. I told them something has to be shorting out in the wiring but looking for more advice. I can not imagine that something would just stop working between the time it took for the motor swap to happen.

What year is the engine that was swapped in?
Is it a Legacy GT or a Legacy L?

i just got a call from them saying that they were sold a motor that had the correct vin 8th digit 4. The vin tag on the motor shows that but when they inspected the pulley used for the timing referrence it only has 2 markers and not the same as the originaly motor. Can they just swap the pulley over to the new used motor or no? I'm not sure what the motor came out of other than it is another Legacy but heard in the back ground said it was an Outback.
