Default Swap motor exhaust question

This may sound abit stupid but i have a 2003 WRX with a 2005 Sti engine, tranny and everything. When shopping around do I have to get a 03 WRX exhaust or a 05 STI?

Sti seems like the right answer to me, but will it fit under?

you will need STi exhaust for anything that you've replaced with STi parts. If memory serves, the turbo bolt pattern and housing size is the same on the TD04 and the VF43, so downpipes and uppipes should mate up. Please someone correct me if I'm wrong on this one.

Once you're back past the downpipe, everything should be the same 02-07 Impreza. Just have to make sure pipe sizes match up. If you're buying all stock pipes, I believe the STi was 2.5" and the WRX is 2.25. If buying Aftermarket, just buy everything the same size.

When you say exhaust, are you refering to downpipe back or manifold back? Either way, downpipe back, all 02 through 07 wrx/sti will fit, the important part, is what ecu are you running? And, I would tune it once you are done with the swap even if you replace the exhaust with stock parts. Good luck!

the only difference is the exhaust manifolds. uppipes, downpipes, catback, all the same.
