Toyo Tires Group Buy Opportunity

So I had the privilege of meeting one of the District Toyo Tire reps recently. I was talking to him about performance tires and he said that Toyo is interested is getting more of the performance business up here and told me that if I wanted to put together a group buy of some sort he'd be more than willing to cut anyone interested a discount to let our racing community essentially "try" out some of the performance tires Toyo has on the market.

So here's the facts if anyone is interested: Order will be made in January. The tires will be shipped up with Continental's January stock order so there's no charge for freight. If you're interested post the tire you're interested in and the size you want and I'll get back to you on price sometime once I get final pricing on everything. The tires would be here late January/early February.

This order is not limited to performance tires since Toyo is extending some extra discounts to their non-competition brand tires for us.

Would need a commitment by mid-January, will get a for sure date on Monday (that's when my meeting is with Wholesale). I'll talk to Conti's wholesale guy on Monday about seeing if we can work something out regarding payment for tires. If you're interested definitely let me know and I may be able to work things out on a case by case basis.

Bump - sent most of those who posted tire sizes a PM with pricing since I just received the final pricing.

Talked to wholesale and since this is a special order - the tires will need to be prepaid. If timing is a deal killer I still may be able to work something out but it would be on a case by case basis.

Lol, came out to $3 per tire more than tirerack. Obviously the free shipping makes it a good deal though.

Yeah.. Some tires are discounted more than others obviously. The R1R is one of the tires I don't have any discounts on so that is the best I could do :-/.

You can certainly try pricing another tire in the same size.

But you're right... The savings in freight alone really does make a difference considering normal freight from Tire rack runs around $200.00 to Alaska.

Figures the R1R would not be discounted. That would be a choice autox tire for street class.

For interested Fairbanks people I would be happy to ferry tires up there for you. I can fit two full sets in my car and I'd probably make a trip or two up there before springtime anyway.

kayetealynn: How's this group purchase going? Still an available deal? I'm thinking about ordering my wheels soon, so I need to make sure the tires I will need will be available at the rates you PM'd to me. Also, its not going to be a problem to pre-pay to secure the order.

It's going well - have a lot of interest but I'm not expecting a whole lot to happen until closer to the 15th due to people's holiday finances. Received word from Toyo and as soon as you pay for your tires (you can PM me for payment instructions) they are going to put them in a hold status until we have our order shipped up in January.

I will honor the quoted prices I PM'd you - even if you end up being the only one that orders tires (which I hope isn't the case of course!). The way this is working is that the tires ordered through here will be an extension of a stock order that Continental is placing regardless of whether or not anyone takes me up on this offer - so it is not going to get cancelled or changed due to lack of interest. The mods had concerns about this too - and they did verify with Conti's wholesale manager personally so there wouldn't be ANY issues for anyone that chose to be a part of this. Continental isn't making any money off of this - this is strictly me trying to give AKIC the best possible deal

If anyone else is even considering new tires this summer, or even the summer after that - hit me up for pricing!
