I like the cap that Karl is wearing in the last pic, I looked for something like that all winter.

The logo looks kind of "I dream of Genie" for some reason.

Just curious as to why they show the new WRX in all of the above pictures even though the Prodrive car the Scheible and Lovell are driving is an gen. 1 impreza body. Any ideas?

You'll note that the prodrive cars were devoid of any sponsorship whatsoever? The cars were just interim vehicles until the rally prepped US spec WRXs were ready.

That logo looks much better on a dark background and isn't meant to be on white. This should be really kick ars.

Cool beans.

Hopfully this means one thing...

STi baby.

Look at all the STI parts on that WRX. Heck id settle for just the rear wing. But is Subaru is going to seriously back a US rally team, and they are gonna plaster STi all over the car. It would seem only reasonable to offer STi parts through Subaru. I mean look at TRD through Toyota. They are doing GREAT. So hopfully Subaru will take a hint, and allow for its customers to do the same with STi components. I dunno, maybe im dreaming in a perfect world. But it makes perfect PR sence. And with a rally car out in front of people to see, it could be the launching pad for the STi WRX to come over here as well.

spt - sti
all the same thing...

just a different name really...

subaru will now sell the sti exhaust and suspension for the WRX... and they already have sti parts... the spt short shifter is the same as the sti short shifter... etc.

I just came back from the "Special Preview Day," at the New York Auto Show, and the USA-spec rally car was on display there! It is very hot, and I hope to have my pics posted by tomorrow!

FYI, it appears that the car is indeed a US-spec WRX with obvious STi and Prodrive influences. It is a very nicely done car, and a proper rally car at that!

Mitsubishi also had 2 Lancer EVO VII, although they're not going to be for sale in America this time around. The best they have to offer is the Lancer OZ, which is a very cheesy ride! (See Other Post).

Here's a little tiny picture that was released.

One thing I don't get though. I thought Subaru couldn't use STi, that's why they have SPT. Wouldn't they want to advertise SPT instead of STi? Or is SOA allowed to use STi now?
