Default Are there any bay area install gurus?

Along every other car forum , honda, toyota, etc. There is always a community guru that does installs for various things and very much so very customized. They also charge little to none, or just decently priced.

I was wondering if our bay area Subaru has such a person? Not looking for a shop or store. Unless it is that closed of a setting or price is fair. I have just been quoted 100 above amount bc of labor being the most of it.

Also just overall meeting someone passionate about the same car is great.
I have always attended other car brands gurus, be nice to meet my own

I am trying to get
-angel eyes installed and housing painted.
-4 supertones to be installed.
- led taillight mod
- window tints.

I highly recommend getting a professional to do the window tinting. It's worth it to have the tint film free of bubbles and look good for the life of the car. The other mods seem like they could be done easily after watching a couple youtube videos.

I would agree with this advice. Don't skimp on the window tinting...you get what you pay for. I would recommend Best Image out of San Mateo for window tinting. I have had several cars go through there with no problems. I'm sure there are other places but they work on a crap ton of cars and have the experience. Everything else you mentioned are do it yourself projects. Just follow the directions and take your time.

There are guys on NASIOC that will do the headlights for you, just have to pay shipping and minor labor.

Over on iClub, there is a more active DIY community, try the NorCal forum there.

Looking for Bay area people so that i can skip the shipping fee..

is there not anyone , someone can suggest?

even so.. shipping is never the problem, its the cost of labor that they charge that becomes ridiculous.

=l

it seems that other car communities have these gurus that do it for fun and help everyone else.

Did you check out i-club or did you miss that part?

Honestly, I can install a lot of things but since I have a job, girlfriend, and enjoy the amount of time off I *do* get, I usually dont do installs for anyone anymore. A friend took advantage of me during his turbo swap when I offered to work on it while on vacation.

Check i-club, youtube, google and go to some of the weekly meets.

If you actually put your location in the "location" I could tell you which meets were close to you but "bay area" is a little vaugue (and frustrating, especially when youre asking for help).

Depends on your part of the bay. North bay meets are in Novato, East bay has meets on Monday,Wednesday and I think Friday. San Fran and West Bay have a couple on sat and Fri nights, south bay has one on wednesday.

I am looking for a well known person vs trying to find someone at a meet.

my schedule is just as populated, as well as time restricted to attend meets

Thanks for the suggestion though.

Anywhere in Bay Area, does not matter, so the vagueness was implied, anywhere in Bay Area would be fine.

Would like to set a meet and get it done vs the meet and find.

I will look into iclub.. to see if anyone knows of anyone.

Thanks.

Still looking for anyone who is willing though.
