Any idea's on how to fix this. I'm not to worried on making it perfect again, it IS a front bumper and often takes some hits. I already got some color matched touch up for it and I plan on shaving down some of the ridges and painting the scratches so it's not so noticeable. But I'm considering a front lip to. Either way, hope this never happens to any of you, not a good feeling. PS, last two pics were taken after a wash and before a dry

Ouch. Get a new bumper. They dont make lips that go over that damaged area.

I had the exact same damage done to my car and it was cracked on the underside. I removed the bumper and completely sanded down the area until it was smooth. Not like no rough spots, but SMOOTH. I then epoxied the back side of the crack and sanded that completely smooth after it dried. You can probably use some bondo filler if you have some deep scratches, but mine were ok. Then I taped off the rest of the bumper and did a light sand on the rest of the lip and did a single stage DGM spray paint. I lost track of coats and probably ended up with 6+. It wasn't perfect, but after I painted and had a good polish with a buffer it wasn't noticeable to anyone who wasn't looking for it.
~$50 for an 8/10 > $600 for a new bumper and paint match. |

Pretty sure hpt has one listed on their site. They are looking to make a cheaper version if there is enough interest

Is it just me or do they not make Carbon fiber fenders for the slim body WRXs?
only 08s I find are 08 STI's and up. I noticed a bit of metal errosion/rust on the tip of my current ones and I just want to replace the two front ones completely with cfiber.. |

Nope, they don't... At least not to my knowledge... 08-10s seem to be the forgotten years... If it couldn't also be used on the STi, "they" seemed not to make it...

^^^ Which is dumb We have the classiest ones imo. It's very under the radar type of look and can be pulled off real nice. It's a different look from any other model wrx/sti made.

My thoughts exactly. Before I went straight pipe exhaust (and 99% of the time now) I could drive by the cops without them batting an eye. Something about not having bulging fenders makes it easy to not be noticed. I mean for being lowered with a big FMIC in the front it's kinda nice.

^^^ Best of luck with that!
Alright so you guys know that I have that under diffuser on my car and I love it and all. I'm thinking about putting a vinyl on there. I was thinking Scoobie for boobies (22") but I'm pretty open to ideas or other vendors out there who wants to hook me up What do you guys think? yes or no? I can always take it off later too. |
