Subaru Stars south west fl subaru's

ok there are about 3 people i know within 100 miles of where i live in florida(port charlotte if you must know) but i want to try and either find or start a subi network down there. Half the probem is the fact that i have been doing overseas contracting for the past 2 and a half almost 3 years, but thats neither here nor- there. if there are other subi owners in the south western parts of florida that is looking for the same thing that dont play the bs im faster than you lets race everyone, please leave a message on here or shoot me a pm. i will be back in the middle of october from iraq and i would like to get a nice little group of people together and go for a cruise or find some racing events (not a street race spot on friday night) well hoping for some luck but i will talk to you fellow sbi owners soon!!

I am new to Cape Coral, FL as of 9-10-09. Quite a different scene here than from where I am from. Vancouver, WA. Subies are everywhere and meets take place all the time.

I'm Here! I have about 6 sooby drivers in my phone I have chased down and met. Every one of them said they'd be good for a meet or crusie. We just need to find an interest and set something up. Are the local drivers more into finding some curvy roads, or tearing up some trails? Or we could start naming some fun roads we like to haul down. Like Sweetwater Rd. in Hardee county off of Hwy 17.

i'm in near port charlotte. I work in that area a lot as well.

I'm still waiting on my suby to be delivered though....

If you ever see a Dark Green MR2 on the road it's probably me. (excessively loud exhaust) lol.

Dood... it's SW Florida like, the Gulf of Mexico? LOL Not suprised you haven't found anyone swimming in a Suby out there yet. OH!!! That gives me an awesome idea! Y'all know those Corvette boats with the LS2 in it? Maybe someone can get a boat with a 2.5 STi in it! (patent pending) ROFL

actually I kind of like the boat idea.... could make for an interesting time!

would be even more fun to incorporate a manual transmission to it as well, lol.

Default SW FLorida WRX Owners Beware

Heres a consumer alert
I took my 05 STI to Obrien Subaru (Fort Myers) for service. Within 20 minutes of handing over the keys, the mechanic had crashed the car on a high speed joy ride ($13,000 in damage). This was a blatant act of misconduct; the mechanic even recieved a citation at the scene of the crash.

Be careful, this dealer cannot be trusted nor are they willing to step up and take responsibility for their actions.

Damn man thats sorry to hear! I took my 04 STi in a couple years back for a short in the Drive by wire system. The lead tech worked on it, couldnt figure out why the ECU and the Electronic Throttle Relay didnt have a ground, and shorted my PCV connector out (Since I dont have one) and charged me 200 bucks. I peeled back my carpet, found out the ground wire for the ecu was hacked and exposed. Gee I wonder why it shorted
There isnt any one really around this area who knows Subarus well, Josh at Import Image might know a good shop or two that are trustworthy for basic service needs.

You have a body shop picked out? Or do they? I do know a good place here in naples

Default Just moved to Cape Coral last week. Bought a 96 Legacy Outback yesterday.

I'd definitely be looking to meet up with other local owners. Just relocated to the Cape from Orange County, CA... aka "Car Wonderland".
