Unhappy new engine in Indy

I am new to the Indianapolis/Lafayette area, and relatively new to Subaru (i've owned for about 2 years). My engine just died on me, wondering if anyone call recommend a trustworthy mechanic in the area for a new/rebuild engine. I've got a 2005 Subaru Outback. 2.5L, automatic, and I think non-turbo (I am not an car-savvy person by any stretch, so additional info will likely be met with a lack of knowledge, understanding. I'm lucky to know its 2.5LL and non-turbo, only becasue the first place i asked mentioned it and I wrote it down). Any suggestions would be appreciated. Corroboration especially appreciated.

Try posting in your regional forum, sir. You'll get more help there.
