Default Amplified noise

My buddy was driving in a 2015 WRX today, and he thinks the engine noise is amplified through the speakers like the eco-boost Mustang, I said no way. Does anyone know if this is true? I highly doubt it, just annoyed me he insulted the car like that.

The 2015 WRX does not have this. The 2015 STI has a sound generator tube running from the engine bay to the cabin, but this is not over the radio.

There is a sound generator tube from the intake to the cabin in both the 2015 WRX and 2015 Mustang.

No sound tube on the wrx... Only STi. The other possibility OP is that you have a non-factory radio with a really bad ground loop!

I haven't actually looked to confirm, but just based on sound I'd agree with thill and rkramer that the WRX doesn't have this. The cabin noise on the WRX is nothing like it was on my FR-S which did have the generator.
