Default 06 sti swap into impreza?

My buddy has an 06 sti that got rear ended by a semi and it totaled but the front end including all motor, exhaust, tranny, and suspension is perfectly fine. The car is still driveable lol. But he was wondering how hard would it be to do a full sti swap into an inpreza, considering we have all the nesessary parts, harnesses and ecu. Anybody have an idia on how easy it'd be or not even worth it at all? Thanks!

It's worth it and it's fairly straight forward. You have a couple options. Use the search function. What year impreza?

if you're willing to do a headlight to tail light wire harness swap...

personally if it were up to me i'd swap it into an early 90's legacy or impreza

Im concidering this same swap. I have a 2000 Impreza outback wagon sport and am thinking of getting a newish WRX engine for it. I love the earlier body style vs the bug eyes. How hard do you think that would be? or would I end up with more issues than its worth

Default 06 STI swap into 06 WRX

I have an 06 WRX that I am looking to swap an STI motor into (preferably an 06 STI motor). Does anyone know where I could find information to do this? Thanks!

Well since you have an Impreza and not a WRX to start you have to swap the dash harness and ecu/cluster. You might as well swap the entire interior while your at it.

If you had a wrx it should be a direct swap. (motor wise)

If you are planning on doing the trans & rear diff best bet is to swap hubs/knuckles/brakes as well. otherwise you will have to get some custom axles. Literally have to swap EVERYTHING from one car to the other.
