Default Turbo "spool-up" versus "spool-down"?

When a quicker launch is desired, say, at a Solo event, is it an advantage to "blip" the throttle up to 5-6000, before launching at 3500-4000 to get the turbo spinning ahead of time? Or does it slow back down instantly?

You gotta hold the Revs at like 5500 ish. a quick blip wont do it, most likely you will bog (driver dependent of course). Idealy you would have a 2 step to launch with. thats pretty brainless was to get out of the hole.
