Hello guys, i just joined the forum becasue i just purchased a 2004 Forester XT! ive been looking for a Fozzy forever and jumped on this one 3 hours after it got on the lot. Ive never driven a better car (granted i am 17). I have a question about the exhaust though. I have a universal Apexi N1 muffler with 2 1/4 in piping, can i weld it on without getting a tune? I believe the stock pipe on the xt is 2 1/4 so i should be ok?

Ok guys i have some problems with my Forester, My 04 forester xt, at WOT ,around 3.5k rpms all of a sudden makes a "wooosh" or "shhhhhhh" noise almost as if im running on a thin layer of water, then once i slow down or shift up my exhaust gets extremely loud and stays like that for about 5 minutes. Also in netural, if i rev the engine, it kind of grinds on its way back down at around 2k rpms. Does anybody have any ideas what going on?

Congrats on the purchase. Might want to have the dealer take a look at the engine problem.
Also fill out your profile and look in the NWIC chapter/region so others can direct you to a good shop close to you.
Also look here: www.subaruforester.org for better info on your forester.
and check here for something cool to add to it.http://www.subaruforester.org/vbulle...-orders-22982/

Cheers

There are so many great independent Subaru shops up here in the PNW, why would you suggest throwing money in the trash at the dealer?

My hope in telling him to take it to the dealer is that he takes back to the "dealer" that he bought it from in chance that they offer some kind of "warranty" on it, or will stand behind the car they sold him and fix it for no charge if something is actually wrong with it. If they don't, then screw that place he got it from and take it to one of the many great independent Subaru shops up here in the PNW.
