Default 04 knuckles into 98 rs controls arms

Hey guys I just purchased a v8 ( gd sti 5x100) complete drivetrain to swap into my98 rs. I'm concerned about the fitment for the knuckles. I've searched and found that the knuckles can be bolted down to the oe rs steel lower control arms. If I'm correct don't the gd's have aluminum lower control arms. There for the ball joints have a sleeve that's over them to seat properly in the control arm. Can this sleeve be removed or do I have to get gd lower control arms?

IIRC the USDM balljoints (for aluminum arms) use a plastic sleeve, remove it (older JDM I know was metal) If it can't be removed just replace the balljoint with the one for you arms (probably not a bad idea to do while it's apart as a preventive maintenance anyway)

Ok so let me make sure I understand this. Your saying to remove the sleeve from the ball joint to use it with my rs control arms. If they can't be removed then remove my current ball joints and put them in the new knuckles. Correct?

Correct-ish.

Don't remove your current ones, buy new ones (cheap insurance)
