Default Stage 0 - 0-60 in 4.5-4.6 Seconds?

Form Shiv's/Vishnu's site.

Stage 0 - 0-60 in 4.5-4.6 Seconds.

Are thes claims based of a G-tech or what? Has anyone ran such times themselves? Ive never been to a track so 1/4 mile means less to me, since for safety reasons i never really reach those speeds on the road. Very impressive time for 285hp, IMO.
Ajay

OT. I would buy Vishnu products if I had the money, from everything ive heard. Business is Business and markets are fairly volatile, especially early on (WRX market). So keep a level head, and stop making a fuss about nothing. my .02

I was able to get those times with a Gtech and my Stage 0.

Really I dont know how else to get a good 0-60 time other than with a Gtech...

I averaged 4.5-4.5... but had a best time of 4.25 seconds.

My best quarter mile with Stage 0 was 13.097@103.11... but I averaged around 13.2-13.3...

Stage 0 is a great kit... best bang for your thousand bucks...

Thumbs up not really relavant...

This has nothing to do with the post, but that's a tight name desiwrx. I was planning to put that exact wording on my license plate once I take delivery of my WRX.

I, too, say those times are right in line with what you should be seeing.

I have your mods plus a good bit (still stock turbo) and I have run in the 4.3 range according to my properly-setup GTech.

ABCD - That was what i was going to put on my plate, but then i remembered that i wasn't Indian... :P anyways, keep in mind that here in the US, "Desi" is a womans name, so be prepared for some confusion on your little inside joke. So while some of us may know what you are talking about, some may interpret it as blatant stereotyping and take offense. Same reason i wouldn't put "Honky" or "Cracka" on my plate... it'd be funny for a bit, but would end up a little tiresome. Just be careful in this PC world of ours...

Glad you guys like the name. To be honest i didnt even give it much thought...
My Mods are Godspeed UP/DP, Lightened Crank Pulley, and MBC at 17 pounds, so i would think that i would be around there too. I just needed a barometer and used the stage 0 for it. Once i get engine management i should be well above that though (Or so i think)

Most of the stage 0 cars I've seen, run high 13's. I don't where you get the extra power from to run 13.0. You would probably need another 70-80 wheel HP to run 13.0 @ 103. I personally think the low 13's are a fluke but that's my opinion. I know you have timeslips and all the other BS. Tracks have timing problems all the time.

17 pounds without engine management ? You must be running lean in closed loop. How much EGTs do you get., at partial throttle?

Well then the cars you seen run or heard of were either up real high in the altitude or just plain bad drivers. I get 13.8 with an MBC set to 15.5PSI alone, and there's some that have gotten 13.6 with MBC + CAI!!! If VS0 would only give people the same times it would be the ripoff of ripoffs!!

I expect nothing slower than 13.5 from a VS0, NOTHING! So start learning to drive people

I believe it's more of a Unichip thing than it is a driver thing. Look around at people who have actually datalogged what their ECU does with timing. Some people get great timing, other's not so hot timing. Now let's look at how the Unichip operates.....it takes a fixed number of degrees out at different points, regardless of what the ECU has done with timing. So if you are consistently getting 32 degrees of advance (like my friend Rob does) and say the Unichip pulls 5 degrees of timing out up top, we're at 27 degrees of advance. Now let's take the best my car could ever muster with the stock ECU. 30 Degrees of advance up top. Let's also assume the same "off the shelf" unichip map. I only come up with 25 degrees of advance. Then let's do an ECU reset. My ECU then defaults to 26 degrees of advance. Same unichip, it pulls 5 degrees. Now I'm at 21 degrees....see where I'm going with this? On the other hand, let's say someone has a Unichip that was mapped to only pul 3 degrees of advance out up top. Say he also has a very happy ECU that gives him insane timing.....34 degrees on a good day, around 15 PSI. Now he cranks the boost up, his Unichip only pulls 3 degrees and he dets bad, timing falls way down...horrible run. The best I could ever muster with a VS0 was a 13.8@ 97. 60 Foots were a 1.8x (right inline with other VS0 users who were running better times). I may not be the best driver but damned if my MPH were ALWAYS within 1 mph regardless of how I butchered the 60 foot.
I think the Unichip is a decent, relatively cheap, mod for someone who has the time/money and lives relatively close to someone who can dyno tune their car to arrive at a custom map.

I run a dual stage boost control which allows me to run FBC 99% of the itme.
