Unhappy so upset :(

So long story short I was driving around when we had the snow storm a couple of days ago and I did not realize that there was a pot hole covered in snow. I hit my car pretty hard. The car drives perfectly fine the only thing that broke was the front bumper and the lip on the car. I've had the car for about 6 months now and i want to have it fixed right away. It is a '13 so I will own this car for many years and I want it to look as new as possible. I am going to the dealership tomorrow to see how much it is going to cost and how long it will take them to have it fixed. I wanna get it out of the way because I want it to match near perfection to the rest of the car. I know it can be done and I am very anal when it comes to my car. I guess I just wanted to vent a little.

I felt like same way after someone whacked me 4 weeks into owning my 11'. Best paint shop in the land screwed it up the first time, but they rectified it. You'll be fine

First: Ouch.
Second: That pic is perfect.

Lastly, check out a few body shops. They will likely fix it for less than the dealership.

The bumpers on the newer WRX/STi do that a lot. There are a number of threads about the problem and how easy the lower bumper cover cracks. If I were you I would wait until winter is over before getting it replaced.

I recently hit a deer. I was very skeptical about whether the body shop would make my Speed3 look like new again. I dropped off a mud covered beat up car. Three days later you could have told me it was brand new and I would have believed you.

Check with your insurance to see if this is covered. Read reviews on body shops nearby and pick one with the best reviews.

The skeptics are out! Although I agree it was probably one hell of a pothole, we have no reason to suspect otherwise...yet.

Yea I would talk to the city about them fixing your car on their dime. I've heard about cities fixing cracked/damaged wheels from pot holes.

Seems to be a lot of broken bumpers lately. Bring it to a reputable body shop. There is no difference between the dealer or an independent.

Where you located?

yeah, I had almost the same thing happen the other day. I hit a good one that was mostly filled with snow so it didn't look like a big deal. whoops. Well, that square insert cover thing in the bottom mid-left of the bumper popped out due to the impact. I'm not sure what thing this is covering, anyone? Everything else appears normal....

Luckily I noticed it missing when I got home and went back to the site of the pot hole and retrieved it from the middle of the street, unmolested

There certainly seems to be an influx of threads started by people who are very anal about their econoboxes.

Sorry for your loss. Get if fixed, call it a day. Might be better to get it fixed at an independent shop, rather than getting raped by the stealership.

You've had a '13 for 6 months? You couldn't even order until August.

How upset? Put it into perspective. Did anyone die? Can the damage be fixed? Does anyone really care?

i didn't order it the dealership by me had it in stock. They were ordered for customer who backed out of it at the last minute and I just happened to walk in that week and it was sitting in the back I guess I got lucky, I looked at the order thread and saw how long people are waiting for these cars

Some shmoe reared into my 6 month old STI in a parking lot. The bumper damage was very minimal but the fender needed replacing. had to use my collision insurance since hte fella didnt bother to stay around and leave me any info.

Insurance will take care of it all - collision wise. The body shop, rather than repairing, decided to replace both the fender and bumper. The bumper i think was somehwere around 700 to replace. passneger fender panel another 700. miscelaneous odds and ends and a very heavy labor fee. *shrug* insurance covered it so i didnt care. looks brand new.

If they don't cover the lip, just buy a replica. It's a fraction of the price for a part that will likely take a beating again.

I'm pretty sure that's where the tow hook screws in.
