Default Invinca-Shield, Clear Bra installers in Sac-Aub area

Anyone know of a shop that has experience installing the Invinca-Shield- Clear Bra?

Preferably in the Sacramento-Auburn area...

Thanks,

Default Clear bra Installers

I had the X-pel product installed on mine. It was done by a guy named Dave Meljie. The guy did a good job and installed it last march. the clear bra is of course a 3m product.

Dave has a shop in Rancho Cordova. telephone 916 851-9777
or 800-964-2007
Mine was the first Subaru that he had done.Tell him Steve Sample reffered you. Maybe we could get an I-club discount or something.

Very cool, thanks for the referral.

Invinca-Shield is also a 3M product, Scotchcal. I bought it direct from Invinca-Shield with a 20% i-club discount.

Any referrals in Auburn or *gasp* Grass Valley?:-}

No, I live in Grass Valley.

We do have several WRXs up here, not sure if any are partake of i-club or not.

I can see where this sentence could sound like I live in Auburn and would *gasp* consider Grass Valley. But, what I meant was *gasp* "could there actually be someone in the boonies of Grass Valley".

I would drive from Grass Valley to someone who is experienced in putting these things on. I am getting some body work done in a body shop here, but they have never put one on. He is going to take a look at it Monday when I take my wagon in and let me know if he is interested in putting it on.

Jerry C is from either Nevada City or Grass Valley... Still haven't found anyone in Auburn yet though.

Lightbulb

Lowball:
X-pel is esssentially a plastic bra. for the WRX the kit or pieces include one that goes on the hood. One that covers the bumber or fascia (thats the biggest most complex part) little pieces that go over the exposed part of the mirror and small pieces that protect the little area right below the headlights. They also make headlight ones and claim it saves the lens from being broke. I do not have the headlight stuff.

Its like Stonegard. The kits which are big thick decals can be purchased online peice by peice. The cost would be about 250.00 give or take a few bucks. The install I paid for. If I wasnt so busy with school I would have found someone and learned how to install it. The install guy took about an hour and a half. The process uses water and a cleaner for prep. He made well over a hundred bucks for the install. I think that there are some i-clubbers that have done their own installs.

Ken-gv
If you go online there is a website for X-pel and has a link for local installers if my memory serves me right there is an installer in grass valley or Auburn.. Web surfing... saves the money and time....

A search showed one for Clear Bra:

Clear Bra of Sacramento
3487 Orangevale Ave, Suite A
North Highlands, CA 95660
Jeff Davis
916-971-3193 ext 13
jdavis@acmeincorporated.net

None in the area for X-Pel.

So, that is 2 leads, with your Rancho Cordova referral.

Thanks for the info...But how does it look and how does it effect your paint if for some reason you decide to take it off?

LB

Long term effects
hmm well What I can tell you is that I've only had it on for approx six months. The stuff is great. I had left the car parked in my 77 year old dads garage.(with the front end sticking out) He came home and didnt see the car and pushed the automatic door opener and it scraped one small section between a head lamp and the grille it wasted the plastic X-pel. IF it was just a plain painted surface im sure it would have been terribly scratched. (slightly scraped the hood piece as well)
Any ways I peeled off the small section of X-pel just like you would a wrapper off of a Ham or some other sealed plastic . It did not leave any residue nor marks. So as far as long terms effects Id suspect that the stuff might yellow with age. I assume it peels off.

other options are funky leather bra or letting the elements get to the high quality, durable subaru paint job.
