Cool MY02 STi Colour Coding ...

Finally managed to get some colour coding done to the car aswell as get the side indicators replaced... so long to that ugly orange. For those of you interested in taking a look at the colour coded front reflectors and mirror supports you can see some photos I took today here:

The paint match came up flawless as you can see in the image below:

Any thoughts?

Gerrod

Thanks, much appreciated

Whilst it may look stock, I've actually had a little bit of work done to it to help it realise it's potential

Gerrod-could you do me a huge favor and measure the distance between the door crack and the outside edge of the side marker. A picture with a ruler measuring the distance would be perfect. Would you sell me the orange one? Thanks!

I'll see if I can get you a photo of the measurement tonight but I don't think I've got an imperial ruler lying around so you may have to make do with metric.

As for the orange indicator I wont be selling them as I want all of my parts to return the car back to stock for when I sell it.

I've actually found the tires to be really good, but then again... the STi does come with different and more tread than the standard WRX as you can see here:

http://photos.smktech.com.au:58885/g....jpg&preview=1

In the above photo you can see that the tires are actually Bridgestone RE040 225/45R17's which means they are considerably wider that those on the US WRX.

If they weren't so expensive I wouldn't see why I would get anything else but the same tires when I was due for new ones.

Here you go.. couldn't quite get the ruler in place whilst being far enough away not to cause a hot spot with the camera. Either way you get the idea... the ruler shouldve been slightly more to the right, which makes it pretty damn close to 1 1/4 inches. Of course this can be a tad difficult to see as the seam to the door isn't straight.

The figure quoted is at the flywheel... I have the APS STi Sprint Spec fitted which I'd give you the link to but unfortunately the web site is currently down. When it's back up I'll throw the link in here.

In addition to that kit I've also got the APS High Flow Air Intake which goes down into the gaurd on the drivers side and takes air from infront of the wheel. Air flow can be greatly improved just by simply popping off the front foglight protector exposing the inner guard to the oncoming air.

Thanks for the info fatcatwrx...
Just another question... do you know what is the standard boost on a stock STi?
and also, what boost are you running on now?

The stock STi runs 17.5psi at about 4000rpm... I'm now running only about 18psi but it holds a lot stronger as opposed to the stock boost curve which drops off to about 12psi at redline, whereas I'm running about 15-16psi at redline.
