Default Best location to have an EJ205 rebuilt in Arizona?

As stated I have an EJ205 I'm pulling out of a 2002 WRX that I need rebuilt and wanted to know what your experience has been with shops in the area. I assume the best will be in the Phoenix area. Any input would be greatly appreciated.

Goodspeed Performance in Scottsdale. NE corner of Raintree & Hayden. They might not be the cheapest, but it will be done right (which is most important).

FAT treats me well, would have to give them my vote. I haven't been elsewhere but the guy I talked to on the phone at DynoComp a few months ago was helpful and didn't have an attitude.

FAT/Snail FTW!

I'm 13 times and had to take my car away from them.

I would avoid Goodspeed at all costs. Since they have dropped off the face of the planet when I asked for a small refund. Joe and I had been going back and forth via email and then soon as I asked for a refund bamm gone! Not a word since.

It's probably because you don't drive a Ferrari or Porsche.

Arron does great work. Especially after we botched the job in the first place. Arron really did me a solid and bailed me out when I had my hands tied. Would recommended him in a second! Awesome guy!

It was said in jest. I know people rebuild them. You built Jason an awesome 2.1 stroker right? That's the only thing I'd do with the 205. It's what I'll do with my 207 if it ever dies (though is safe and sound sitting on the stand at the moment ). I wouldn't rebuild a straight 205 to factory setup given a choice I guess. I think there are better options. If you can drop a bit more, I would simply go straight 207 for the AVCS and the heads alone. They are getting cheaper. I think you can get the swaps in the $3000-4000 range with all the goodies. (Add another 1500 for the trans and rear diff.)

Heck, some of the importers are bringing in JDM 205's which have AVCS for cheaper than 207's too now.

My Arron Stump built 207 is rock solid. Just finished ripping on it at High Desert Trails Rally. That's maximum hard driving not just burping it between stop lights. Stands by his work and easy to deal with. He won't try and super upgrade the **** out of you like Dyno Comp until your wallet is empty either. Tell him your goals and he will design the engine for you.
