Default Mod friendly dealerships in the sf bay area

I went to Capitol Subaru in San Jose to get a Kartboy short shifter installed and they said it would void my warranty so I asked about a catback exhaust & they said any aftermarket parts that are not made by Subaru will void the warranty.

Capitol Subaru is definitely NOT mod friendly!

What dealerships in the Bay Area are mod friendly?

I'm not trying to do any heavy mods just the short shifter, coil overs & sway bars. I already have installed my invidia catback exhaust.

That doesn't mean they're not mod friendly, it means you'll void your warranty with non-Subaru add-ons. That's just standard and ALWAYS the case. Warranties aren't controlled by each individual dealership, either, they're controlled by Subaru of America. Some may be cool and fix stuff under warranty for you even if technically the car isn't eligible, but you won't know until you go for warranty work. They were giving you a disclaimer and nothing more. Every dealership out there should be doing that.

Also, seriously, going to a dealer to install a short shifter and cat-back exhaust? Those are like the two easiest things in the world to install.

I did my catback myself I just asked the about the exhaust because they said anything aftermarket will void my whole warranty. I told them that that's bull**** & that I know that if I put the short shifter it will void the warranty for the tranny but the shifter would have nothing to do with the engine if I needed warranty work.
They still insisted that it would void my whole warranty.

I would do my shifter my self but I'm being too lazy to do the bushings but I guess I'm going to have to crawl under the car & do it myself.

They're right, though. Anything like that technically will void your warranty. It's just a matter of if you ever need warranty work, some dealerships will be cool and look past that stuff, others won't.

But by them giving the disclaimer that all these things void your warranty, it doesn't mean they're mod un-friendly.
