Hey guys, I love my new car. It's been a lot of fun so far but I am a little envious of my friends audi. I know this is a Subaru, and I know its an sti but my question is how can I make the car a littler more luxurious? I opted for the limited package which adds goodies such as leather seats, seat heaters moon roof etc. On my planned list of fancy pants things to do are:
Legacy flip key fob mod Replace speakers, add an amplifier (butkeep OEM nav unit), and sound deaden the doors. Integrate the rear jdm/edm fog light But what else is out there? The only other thing I can think of would be getting some jdm motorized side mirrors. Any thoughts / ideas? What am I missing?

IMO, a good quality exhaust will improve the tone and also make it more "shiny". I think that would help more with the overall vibe of the car. And yes, I do know we're talking interior here... but there isn't much you can do interior wise to make it like an Audi. Unless you go complete custom on it at a shop which would cost $$$$ and be stupid for a 2013. Live with with interior... it's not that bad. |

You could add a backup camera.

The easiest way to "fancy up the STi" is to trade it in for another more luxury oriented car, ie: BMW, Lexus, Audi, etc.
The STi has never, to my knowledge, been aimed at luxury consumers. For a bit more cash, I would've looked in to a 335. I'm not going to start a 335i / iS vs. STi debate, but the 335 is a solid blend of performance and luxury. Clearly, you've purchased a '13 Subaru STi so the options become a little more limited. I'd consider a light window tint, subtle drop and possibly a mellow exhaust / tune. That way you can preserve the cleanliness of the car and still have a little more go. Either way, I'm sure you'll enjoy the new STi. |

The head unit IS the problem, you don't need an amp. Use dynamat to provide some sound insulation. |

The problem is that someone can buy a craptastic '08 Impreza 2.5i for about $8K and have the same looking interior as your car.

Thank all, I do appreciate the input. I do know I bought a cheap japanese car. I do know that the head unit sucks, that the interior rattles, etc. I know what I bought before I bought it and I do enjoy it. I just wanted to make it a little bit "nicer". As far as the stereo goes, I like what the factory nav unit does but not it's sound quality.
The reason I listed my friends Audi is because of the trick key/remote/start button unit it has. I was just looking for ideas to step up the sti that's all. |

The good news is, there is a ton of aftermarket support for the STI. If you're creative enough you can DIY like Overland did in his thread. Or you can pay someone to do it for you. Aftermarket alarm companies make keyless remote start systems you can have installed. The world is your oyster, my friend.
