I haven't done the 4th-5th gear log yet but if it does go overboost, then i would have to use the normal wastegate? But from my first log, NW shows that its soft on the boost (around 15 psi). So would you recommend its better to go under than over? Or is that when e-tune/pro-tune comes into play to better accomodate my car for weather conditions?
Stage 2 GR WRXs have a greater tendency for boost creep than other cars, which is an overboost condition that the ECU cannot control. It is a mechanical condition that will generally get worse with colder weather if you experience it. So, it is a good idea to check your peak boost levels when it is cold out. You can also see higher levels of boost that are still controllable via the LWG map. It is better to underboost than overboost. The ECU will target a lower boost a very cold temps, but you can even overboost relative to that new lower target. Whether that is concern (if you are under the peak targets in the map notes), depends on what your Inj. Duty Cycle looks like (which you can add to the logs).
