Default OBX Headers

Has anyone used the OBX headers for the EJ25?
If so are they worth the cost any mods to install etc......

I used them on my Impreza for a little while, then on my Forester. They are better than factory, for sure. The sound is not boxer rumbly at all.....it sounds more like an inline 4. Fitment is okay, as in, it mated up to my SPT midpipe with no problems. I got a CEL for cat inefficiency, since the header has a resonator and not a cat...... For the money, it's well made, not prone to cracking and makes power. If that's what you're after, it's a good value.

Friend has had them on his car for a long time now. Good headers, but you'll throw a CEL (if that bothers you).

its good EL headers performance wise. friend has it on his 11 STi sedan with no issues or CEL. sounds like rally car and it gave him nice gains after a tune above 5000rpm. i would stay away from UEL if you wanna see some gains.

I have the OBX EL headers on my 01 2.5RS, the only complaint I have is the "ceramic coating" flaking off. Other than that they are sweet. Cool sound, good fitment. Much lighter than the stock manifold as well.

Same issue, also mine sound super rattly when the exhaust is cold. Once it warms up and I give it gas its ok.

I like my OBX headers a lot. After owning them for awhile I decided to heat wrap them, made a huge difference in the "tinny" sound that was made by them.

I felt really good gains from them, too. Very good.

EL length won't give you any type of {boxer} sound improvement but more of that inline sound that was referenced-think OEM Evo sound. UEL is the way to go if you're looking for boxer.

I have CNT EL headers. They are very similar to OBX EL, but include a cat instead of a resonator. I have had them on more than 6months now and no CEL. Has some gains in the mid and high rpm range. Sound is not the traditional "boxer rumble" but is distinct from a Honda type I4. They are a bit raspy when cold, but sound much nicer once they warm up. They bolted right up to my 06 2.5i, WHEN ACCOMPANIED BY AN OBX CATBACK SECTION MADE FOR THE 01-05 N/A IMPREZA'S. They will not bolt up to a stock 06-07 catback without modification.

No they will not directly bolt to the stock 06-07 midpipe. I also installed an aftermarket catback for the 01-05 gen, and that all bolted up without modification.
