Now that they have MM to satisfy the Spanish market Pedrobot becomes more disposable. But they would have a tough time replacing him with someone more proved as the Yamaha pair aren't coming over, and anyone else would be a risk as Pedro is certainly in the top 4 and gets consistent results though he will never be world champ.

Nicky can come back to Honda for another title.

I wonder similarly: if things start to look like Pedrosa is playing second fiddle to Marquez, I wonder if there could be any series of further catalysts that would propogate the idea in Pedrosa's mind that the grass could be greener elsewhere. Admittedly, I haven't a clue where he might think that would be.

That said, Rossi made his way to Ducati when things were getting ugly between himself and Lorenzo. Could similar animosity lead Pedrosa to act?

As far as a 'backfill' into the factory Honda team.... Crutchy, if he starts performing in the races this season like he did in qualifying at Qatar. It seemed like the only thing he was lacking was the main straight speed of the factory bikes, at which point then he ended up overshooting Turn 1 under braking when trying to stave off Rossi's progression.

motogp race was great!!! Give it up to Marquez for battling with rossi in the closing laps!! Can't wait for the race in 2 weeks at COTA!

Moto2 race had great battle's!!!!

and moto3, wow holly draft!!! It was amazing to see the kids work the draft! It almost looked like another rossi was gonna make podium but closing lapps he got dropped behind!

Question, i know Honda factory team tested at COTA, anyone other teams test there?

I know Factory Yamaha was there but only did a 2 day test. I think Monster Yamaha was also there.

Why is it asinine? MM93 is only going to get better and Dani's always the bridesmaid. Yesterday, he showed AGAIN how he loses race after race on his own. Marquez made the better choice on tires.

Moto2 was pretty good yesterday as well.

I don't know who else they could put on that bike and be faster than Pedrobot, besides Rossi (who's never going back there). Possibly crutchlow, but I doubt it.... that being said I think time is running out for sure on Pedrobot, he's been on top level stuff for way to long to have not brought Honda a championship.

On another note, I really hope GP can change things up to make the racing more exciting, yesterdays race was an absolute snooze, I literally fell asleep twice... They've got to figure out a way to bring some action to these races, seeing literally 1-3 passes the entire length of the race is pathetic. This is coming from a guy who over the last 10 years has woke up in the middle of the night to watch these races live, the last couple years, I've gotten to where I watch them on tivo when I have time... it's a shame. WSBK FTW!!!!

Marquez is what the series needed. He's fast and exciting to watch. Stoner was a great rider but kind of an *******. He isn't missed.

Agreed, I'm not a Marquez fan in the least, but the series needs him.... Now they just need more than 5 competitive bikes on the grid, and get rid of the turd crt's and level the playing field some.

What Marquez is capable of doing on the bike is just plain amazing.

I have never seen somebody tilt the bike as much as he does and ride the knee and elbow.
It is still to soon to say that he will win this year's championship, but he sure is showing to Lorenzo and Pedrosa that they will need to be much faster than before.

Nice to see that last corner incident not get blown out of proportion. Yeah, Marquez went in too hot but Lorenzo was not defending his line like he should have. Marquez was actually ahead of Lorenzo at the time so it's not like he came out of nowhere and punted Lorenzo off track. Had Lorenzo slowed down a tick, Marquez would have been wide and probably off in the gravel and 2nd place would have been his. Glad he owned up to making a mistake.

Yup, lack of mental prep on Lorenzo's part. He had two options: take the defensive line, or he could have braked earlier and let MM blow the corner like had happened a few corners previously. He did neither and lost the fight. I'd expect Lorenzo to learn from this, though I'm pulling for MM.

Gotta rub it in a bit more……Pedrosa on pole at Mugello this weekend.

Yeah, that dude is washed up and should retire next year.

Ducati needs to cut their losses and send Spies packing..... A humble guy who came up the ranks and did so well, only to surround himself with people who over hyped him into his own oblivion. Prime example of believing you're own hype, and soon after being irrelevant. Really sad, I was a huge fan and anymore can't stomach him, guy has 99 excuses for everything

You think he's lying about being injured so he doesn't have to race? What's that going to do for his career?

I think Ben is having serious injury issues, and some bad luck. That said, I stopped caring about him last year after he started his personal storm against Lin Jarvis and Yamaha the way he did. I was a HUGE fan of his in AMA and WSBK. Not so much now.

I have a feeling he'll end up on the Suzuki next year, and then he won't have to have excuses for finishing behind CRT/Lease bikes.

It has been sad to see him become irrelevant .

Ditto. I feel the same.

He did things in WSBK that have never been done and aren't likely to be repeated anytime soon. I also can't ever recall any rider having such a dismal season as his last year with all the odd mechanicals and parts failures.

Goes to show how much total package matters; the rider, the bike and team have to do with it in the higher echelons of MotoGP.

Hated seeing Rossi go out early. Marquez finally showed some rookie mistakes. It was nice to see Lorenzo take some points back from Pedrosa.
