Default STi OEM hood material?

I have tried searching this and have come up with mixed reviews on here and google...

also asking the question cause i had my CF hood for sale/trade and couple people said there was no point in switching to a CF hood cause the OEM is aluminum.

Is the 2008 STi OEM hood aluminum or steel?

can anybody give me a straight answer or proof would be awesome thanks?

So is this only with the newer models? Because I'd been told numerous times that my 05 was aluminum.

1. Go outside and see if a magnet sticks to it, 2. search online about the physical properties of steel and alluminum, 3. figure out your answer. Easy as 1-2-3.

LOL! Don't scratch the paint!

My 06 is for sure aluminum. I'm pretty sure they switched to steel in 08 though.

he asked about 08+ models...nowhere did he say anything about YOUR specific model.

02-07 wrx and sti are aluminum.

This is correct. I accidentally posted from IAG's account, but asked Rick from IAG and he confirmed that the 08's are steel. I just forgot to log into my account before posting
