Default help...

I just replaced my flywheel and clutch in my 2005 subie rs 5 speed. The new flywheel is a single piece of metal compared to the original dual mass. the starter won't start the car without a jump and it grinds when it does start and makes a clunking noise even when the clutch is engaged. however, when I rev it in neutral past 3000 rpm the sound goes away. I haven't driven it for fear of damaging one of the new parts. Does anyone have any ideas?

Sounds like installation error or wrong part? Either way much more info is needed to even make an educated guess

Where the frig are you located??

[Filling in the "location" is so frikking easy, but missed by many buttheads............]

A local may be glad to help out.....but then we have to ask multiple questions to figure out WHERE YOU ARE!!

Sigh.

Yes, I had a crappy day, you showed up 1st.

Sigh.

Sorry......sorta.

PS....I'm likely out of date, but frikking "dual mass flywheel on a Suby??!!".

Sorta sounds like the starter is not correctly installed.

You don't have part numbers or anything? The installation went without any hiccups?
