GTspec lower control arms

Drivetrain...
Exedy Stage 1 clutch and lightweight flywheel (WHICH I HATE WITH A PASSION THAT BURNS BRIDGES!!!)
Group N mounts
WL bushings

Here you go.

The car is only in its infancy.

I am shooting for the ultimate street machine. Definitely pushing the stock block to the max but I am sure we can keep it going. No excessive oil burning or other issues and I am at 135K now!!! If it goes down I will pull the trigger on a new setup.
I am sure there will be the typical comments about the block or tranny not lasting but too each their own.

Mods purchased and on stand by:
IAG complete Fuel rail setup
05 short-runner, powder coated, shaved and port matched to composite TGV deletes
Mishimoto thermostatic oil cooler kit
Competition clutch stage 2 w/ lightweight flywheel
ATP GTX3071r

Looking to purchase or in the process of purchasing:
ID1300's
Outfront Closed deck block halves then built block done by me.
Built, pnp'd with +1mm valves D25 heads w/ stock cams.

I have been lurking around this forum for a while now and thought that I would post my results. I am not a tuning pro or a Subaru specialist but I do feel that my car may be a good representation of where a lot of people may want to get too as far as mods go. It was done over the course of a year and was definitely done on a budget. Nothing super flashy, but done in a manner in which is functional. That's really the reason for posting on PPB.
The classified section on here and within the local subaru community is quite abundant with quality parts for a fair price. I do most of my own work and am learning as I go. I will (with the help of my local mechanic) be assembling my first built Ej25 motor in the fall and I am looking forward to that. That motor will be a out front closed deck with BC rods, '11 STi OEM crank, king bearings, (undecided brand) of 99.75 @ over a 9.0 CR pistons. The heads will be built by someone else this time around. They seem to be a bit more than I can handle at this point. But those will be fully done up, +1 exhaust valves but with stock cams.

Combination of power and instant spool is what I am shooting for. I am hoping the NASIOC community would be willing to lend their expertise on where I should go with this project? I want to stay stock location due to the fact I now need to too smog my car. I would truly love to go rotated twin scroll but I would definitely not pass the smog visual inspection with that. I am pretty sure they would pop the hood and give me the hairy eyeball!

Anyway... the graph looks to be a bit on the high side as far as power goes, but the car feels amazing. Eric really does a great job. His customer service is, in my experiences thus far, unmatched. I will continue too use his services until we come too a point in the build where it is is imperative that the tuner is sitting in the seat. And when that happens maybe I can talk him into coming down to the SF bay area I am aware of the quality tuners in the area, especially EQ. I have been wanting to check them out but they are so far away from me (I am in Santa Cruz) it makes it difficult because I really need to dedicate a whole day or two to that which is not really possible for me at this time.

Let me know what you all think! Hopefully I can gather some helpful information from you all.

Thanks,
- Stephen

Thanks. It feels nice.

I completely agree it's been done a million times over. I am just looking for any experienced insight into it. I have tired my eyes out endlessly on this forum but I have found nothing to be better than a good discussion.

I believe Ocha in San Mateo is one of the better ones around the bay. I haven't had a chance to check it out, but it seems decent from what I read. Maybe I'll bump into you there one day.

Picked this baby up from the powder coaters yesterday!

[IMG][/IMG]

Stoked! Almost time to get rid of the plastic intake manifold.

Question to all you folks whom have done this mod on an 08+ wrx... did you run a vacuum block for your lines? I bought a vibrant unit but am still a bit unclear how it will work out.

Over 380whp out of a VF

Would like to see this run @ the track for sure. Even with an easy launch you should be well into the 11's with that kind of power.

The power is a bit high obviously. I definitely want to hit the track. This is my DD right now so I'm trying to keep it in once piece for a bit

It's definitely torque-centric prob more in the 410-420 range. Stock clutch was DOA when E85 came around. I have an exedy stage 1 with lightweight flywheel in now and it sucks. Moving to the comp clutch stage 2 w/lightweight flywheel.

It's a total blast to drive. I love this thing.

I hate lightweight flywheels with a passion.

But what don't you like about the exedy stg1?
I'm running one now and love it, and have installed a lot of them in many different year subarus and everyone reported loving them.

I dislike the engagement. It was a rough break in also, but I guess I am more irritated with the flywheel. It is sooooo loud! I swear the thing is grinding away down there.

I tried my buddies act stage 1 hd out the other night. Much stiffer than my oem sti clutch and the clutch pedal felt like it was half as long. Nice feeling clutch though I liked it

Oh damn. Well, I got a sick deal on the new comp clutch and flywheel so I guess I'll let you know how it feels. Haha.
