Default i need help with car ideas for next semester

my wagon is about to be done, and will be painted by the end of the semester. and now im having an issue with what to paint/build next semester. i want to stick with an import, but im open to any cheap vehicle. so what does TXIC think i should buy, paint, and build for less then $1500 initial investment?

miatas are cool, i like the idea of a roadster. another idea i had was building up a prerunner-esque vehicle. either out of a small truck (ranger or toyota) or a bronco/blazer. i have a few ideas bouncing around.

I think you should build a legacy wagon 5mt prerunner style. Lift it with Forrester struts and king springs. Make subframe spacers and add big tires. Good off-road capability and decent fuel mileage, and hey... It's still a Subaru!

mmm solid axle GL wagon. i did notice there was a 6.0L cucv on CL for a grand, and i know a guy with a sweet rustless 64 long bed chevy truck for sale too. needless to say, i've got a few more ideas, as well as dumping said project money into the subaru, that would fund new links, sways, coilovers, engine stuff maybe even a WRX swap if i find one wrekced cheap enough

bump back from the dead, with more direction this time!

so next weekend im picking up an almost complete 302 for $50 and i still dont know what to stick it in. obviously my wagon needs to stay out of this, its a school project/daily driver and i dont want to spend another 2 months without my wagon.

so im still at a loss for what i can stuff it in. im trying to find something that it'll fit in, be rwd, with some form of convertable/t-tops/sun roof, and pop up headlights. rx7s and z cars are the only things that come to mind. maybe a miata if i can find a decent one cheap enough.

Again, starion/conquest. RWD, and I know a few folks that have already dropped a 302 in them.
