If the rear wasn't so stubby, I'd be all over it.

The new trend of swoopy sedans is sexy. I loved the CLS and I love the CC.
If they make it have a real sporty setup, I would love this. Say the powertrain out of my golf R ![]() |

VW did a bang up job of cheapening the 2011+ Jetta. It won't surprise me if VW does it with whatever comes out next, too.

I swear I can feel the difference between my GTI and Jetta in terms of quality construction. |

The "coupe" and "shooting brake" names have been ruined and it makes me sick. I was trying to show my wife what a true shooting brake looked like through a quick google search, and the main thing that popped up was the Mercedes CLS WAGON. I'm sick of the use of the names to generate hype. Seriously, if you are going to make a shooting brake, take a coupe and square the back.
P.S. That's a decent looking sedan. Sadly a bit bland, but what styling has VW been known for most in the past years. |

I say good riddance. The shooting brake was by far the stupidest name ever attached to a car. It was like using the words, Monkey Fornication, to describe jogging.

I can definitely tell a difference in quality/fit & finish between my old MKV GTI and my current MKVI Jetta GLI. Sometimes I wish I had just purchased a 4-door GTI.

Is this even going to be sold here by VWoA? I have serious doubts.
It's basically the "true" continuation of the Jetta/Bora line, as a Golf sedan, rather than the US-designed MK-6 Jetta (which has been a huge sales success here, despite the press' & enthusiasts' wails of protest). I'm not sure why VW would try to fill a niche market they just got out of by making the US Jetta bigger, specifically for American tastes. I totally understand why this car has appeared for the rest of the world, but I wouldn't count on VW even bothering with it here. |
