Default What oil should i use?

well im doing the first oil change tonight on the car i just recently got. it has a built bottem end with weisco pistons, eagle rods, acl bearings. stock compression. i havnt gotten a response from the shop that built it yet so i want to see what you guys think.

Alot of oils threads are out there, but I won't be "that guy" and tell you to search.. lol.

The weight is dependent on the bearing clearances and desired oil pressure.

I run Rotella 15w-30.

I run rotella t6 5w-40, the car loves it. No burning oil. 88k tho stock bottom stage 2 catless with a protune.

Still on the vf39? Some aftermarket turbo's require that you run an oil with high ZDDP in it, aka racing oils. I used to run Rotella T6, but with the new turbo I'm going to run Redline synthetic 5w30.

Amsoil zrod 10W40 in the winter and Amsoil dominator 20w/50 (or is it 15w) in the summer.

Imo Amsoil makes the best oil. The racing formulas have a very high zddp content.

AMSOIL, Shell Rotella T6 5w-40, Motule 300v line, Mobil 1 0w-40 Euro. Any of those. Assuming the engine is broken in of course.

I run 20W50 VR1 Non-syn in the summer and 5W40 Liquid Moly Full Syn in the winter.

sorry some things came up so im doing it tomorrow instead but the motor is broken in and im running a rotated 35r on it.
