Make sure to do a boost pressure test to insure the car is tight of vacuum/boost leaks...

finished the car yesterday and it's running.. but has a exhaust leak from the upipe/turbo bracket
going to see if we can loosen some of the bolts and move the bracket.. or else we have to take it apart again

passenger side injectors are annoying.
otherwise everything else went pretty smoothly

You can say that again Kevin, it took Anthony 8 hrs to install my injectors, turbo, and fuel pump. And I'm been running without boost for a week now. John will tune my car tomorrow.
Before that, I'll be visiting you tomorrow at service. Do you've BOV gasket in stock?

Kevin has school next year and will not be able to continue to work at Akuma. We needed to get someone trained And up to speed as fast as possible. We wish Kevin the best of luck in his future endeavors.

I am interested to hear more about this. Can we talk tomorrow at the shop? 8 hrs is excessive for the installs you are describing. We should have a BOV gasket in house. If there are any issues that we should have attended to, and did not, I will rectify it tomorrow if applicable.

Thanks.

John

yeah, it's confusion!
John thought Vin was talking about Akuma Kev when he was really talking about me.

It was nice meeting you Vin.. sucks that you have that leak. I'll surely compare notes after I'm tuned. Now it's time to fix the exhaust leak!

Jdjdjsjjdjfj still a leak. The turbo coolant line wasn't fitting correctly so we bent it a bit and the up pipe still is leaking. We don't know why it isn't sitting properly. And it's not like joe schmoes are working on the car. The inlet boot also is deteriorated so I need a new one of those. Calling akuma in the morning to see if they can take a look because taking the turbo on and off is starting to frustate the hell out of us

that sucks.. we're both unlucky with the same exact car, LOL.

We do have a brand new VW Routan or something or other van that we use to transport customers. Call John up in service & I'm sure we could bring you where you need to go.

I called Akuma & talked to Justin this morning(cool dude). Explained the situation & he said the (brand new) Grimmspeed uppipe flange is probably warped. Unfortunately, grimmspeed nor the place I bought the uppipe from are open today. I can't take the uppipe off until monday to even tell. I don't have another vehicle so it's not like I can have my car sit. I've been bumming rides the whole week. This is why I need a Miata

Car runs fine, just a code for my cat. I really can't see it being anything other then the uppipe being warped. It's either that or the turbo.. and I can't see the turbo being screwed up. It's frustrating because it leaves me without a car & taking it apart 38123390123 times is no fun. Also, now Akuma is out of a tune today.

Okay, I'm done crying.

Edit: Suggestions on a turbo inlet to buy since mine is wasted

you need a new inlet, stock one is shot? go with perrin or avo. really any of the silicone ones are decent enough. maybe the leak is coming from the gasket because it didn't seal well enough? does the flange on the up-pipe look warped? maybe take the studs out and lay it on a flat surface, you will then know whats up.

yep, stock is shot. It's so soft and pretty deteriorated. I might or might not of held boost.. better to be safe then sorry. I'll take pictures of the old one when we take it out. Thanks for the opinions!

The next step is to take the up pipe off & check it out. I'll also compare it to the IAG up pipe I had in before(hell, maybe bolt up the IAG one for the time being and see if it fixes it). You can see on the up pipe gasket itself where it's leaking.
Left Blouch an e-mail seeing if I can just buy that coolant line we bent. It works fine, but rather get a fresh one if it's indeed the up pipe.

It's going to be bitter sweet when we find out the true problem and get it fixed, lol.

Appreciate all the opinions & help!

Thanks AZP for the great service once again that you've given me today. I would recommend this place for anyone in the tri-state area who needs their subaru worked on. Great service and great people.
