Morning everyone,
I had my 02 WRX dynamated (trunk, front and rear doors). Going from that, straight into a 2013 WRX, it's obvious I'm going to need to do some more soundproofing. I'm looking for suggestions on shops in the area (preferably around 495/Rt3/128) that people recommend/have experience with. Should I go back to dynamat? Is there another material I should consider? Thanks in advance.

There are plenty of other options that are just as good but much less expensive. WHen I was competing in car audio I used B-quiet X-treme.
Most people don't know how to properly deaden a car. You need a CD with sine waves and several test frequencies to check for places that need to be deadened. Deadening the car indiscriminately is a waste of material, time and effort. Sine waves and frequencies will show you where needs to be deadened. Thats if you are deadening for audio, to avoid rattles etc. If you are deadening just for road noise the floors, firewall and doors should do the trick. |

This thread reminded me of a question, people with subs (including myself) is there a way to "deaden" the license plate rattle? I plasti diped the inside of my plate frame and the back of the plate itself and it did help, but I do still hear the rattle, any suggestions?

Bolt it in place at all 4 corners. Use rubber washers. Don't be 17. Don't listen to crappy music. Don't have subwoofers that are way too big for the car.
Any of the above. Oops, I forgot one: Don't drive a Honda. |

You forgot another one. Plastidip is not the solution to everything.

I don't listen to **** music. I have 2 10s in single boxes not running at max power at all. And the only reason I used the plasti dip is because I had some left over.
