Default New (old) RI Racetrack: Barnyard Raceway!

Hello folks!

While this winter has passed us by without any real snow rally-x's with the untimely cancellation of ADSI in Jan and my Lime Rock autocross this weekend, I have discovered a hidden gem for next winter.

When the winter doldrums hit and the desire to powerslide on a closed track reigns supreme, call Ed Marceau of Barnyard Raceway in Chepachet RI.

It is an old 1/5 mile dirt oval track that has been modified to take a motocross track w/ jumps as well.

While the track is mostly not operational, it is on private, family property and the owner Ed is super cool. Call him, introduce your self and say "I was sent by that Subaru guy that called you, the one who talked about Thompson Speedway". He will say all sorts of interesting things, and he sponsors Mike Stefanik in the NASCAR whelen modifieds that you can catch @ Thompson speedway, especially in the upcoming icebreaker.

The coolest thing is that Ed will not charge you for using the track. If you want to check it out on your own time, call ahead, tell him you're interested. He gets people together every winter to go nuts together on his oval when it snows, so it will make for a fun potential upcoming Rally-X location. All you need to do is call him w/ your contact info as the next winter approaches.

Look for the old dirt oval at the south edge of Grant's way in Chepachet RI

MAybe in the winter 2014-2015 we can do some NESIC meets there....

Sergio, you should come Ice Racing. We do it every weekend. Unlimited laps, on average I put down 150 miles a day on the Ice. Over 100 laps. $20. 2 Courses.
