Default PSA-Subaru has no obligation to warranty your engine if you have a rotated turbo

Not sure why this is such a hard concept. This post popped up on my news feed today.

Quote:
Let's all cheer for my 2011 STi w/15k Miles!!!! Had a #2 cylinder misfire and guess what.....fried rings. So, because it's under warranty, I'm the lucky recipient of 1 new piston and rings. This engine is will have issues hence forth and at the very least the bottom end should be replaced. This problem is bad enough that my car no longer qualifies for the SUBARU BUY BACK PROGRAM because it has caused a carfax issue. In other words Subaru is acknowledging that the car is now worthless after their warranty work (being fixed by a Subaru technician at a Subaru dealership) and will not purchase the car back from me at their guaranteed buy back price. I am so disgusted at how poorly I am being treated by SOA.
Sounds interesting, right?

Some quick internet detective work, though, revealed this photo of the OP's engine bay.

Really, You have a rotated turbo setup and you want Subaru to replace your motor and buy back your car? Might as well ask Toyota to warranty your motor.

http://www.facebook.com/subaruofamer...51198347301689

Idiots like this spoil the warranties for the rest of us, because SOA has to tighten up their warranty stipulations.

Take responsibility for your actions!

At least he didn't blame it on a coil pack causing his car to burn to the ground.

Because it doesn't qualify for the Subaru Buy Back program with Subaru the car is now worthless? That is the tipping point for this persons stupidity.

Whoops, I commented on the stupidity of the guy.

Unfortunately the big thing now with social media is that customers will threaten to post misleading experiences on facebook and twitter just to get what they want and avoid any responsibility for their own actions.

Goes to show just how stupid/entitled some pricks are in our community. Makes me sad, hopefully he sells it soon and buys a different brand.

Just your typical wanker. Cry on FB so all your friends can show you pity.

I think what he meant to say is that Subaru has flagged his VIN, and won't have anything to do with his car anymore. Whaaaaa, whaaaaa, whaaaaaa.

OT doesn't Subaru.

So this guy spends a buttload of money to upgrade everything except the actual engine of his car, blows the engine up, and can't be a man, take responsibility for his own ignorance and upgrade the engine now? Precious, just bloody precious.

Think of it this way. I wanted moar powah in my Subaru. What better way than to rip out the engine/tranny and put in a Ford 302 out of a 92 Mustang. Wow.....I go down the street and my cah goes Bwwwwwwaaaaaaa. Uh, Oh, forgot to put oil in it. Blew the #7 rod bearing....spun it like a top. Subaru won't buy my car back....I'm gonna bad mouth them on facebook. Waaaaa. Someone call the Waaaaambulance.

I'm surprised they covered the motor. I would totally understand if my 400whp stock block STi blew up and was denied warranty. It's like when a microwave manufacturer states "Don't put cats in this microwave" and somebody sticks their car in there and expects to be given a new cat.

Vision.dynamix, are you Christopher Fuhrmann that commented and called him out? If so... awesome. I am upset that somebody took it down though, would have liked to see how that played out.

I'm still waiting on GE to send me a new cat. To be fair, I was the reason they put that warning on there. It wasn't on there when I tried to speed dry Mr. Fluffles.
