Its 2015 and you should like it!

There is a lot to be excited about this season. With multiple new road courses opening up in New England this thread should be full of fresh experiences! Both on track and leading up to a track day. Please share your photos, videos, stories and any general excitement you have for racing.

List of upcoming Autocross & Track events:

Not sure what to do about this section this year. Continue the "upcoming events list" or do not continue? Your call guys.
Did anyone even use it as a reference the past few years? - (update) Events list will probably not be needed this year.

General Info - On going. (updated: 2/11/2015)

In lieu of the "upcoming events" list, I'd like to ask everyone to be proactive about posting dates and links to keep other members informed.
This might work out better!

Be safe everyone!

Coming to an HPDE near you. Unless you want to buy it. Looking forward to seeing what Palmer has to offer. Thompson is a great location for us CT-ers who don't want to deal with Lime Rock's ridiculous noise restrictions and high prices.

As always, the new year of racing begins in the winter, ice racing starts next weekend with AMEC. You cannot beat the seat time, low cost, learning and excitement of wheel to wheel racing. www.icerace.com Street legal classes, must have winter tires (SL) or Hakkas 7 or 8 studded tires (SLS), a helmet and numbers, that's it. Road courses, usually over a mile, lots of sliding.

We're doing a new thing this season: 20 minutes of track time for $20. This is done during lunch break, it will be more of a HPDE setup with specific passing zones with the goal being to see how the club and our courses work.

I have requested and been approved for days off so I can go to the COM event at Mosport. I may go to a couple of the other local COM events this year, but that's the biggie.

Jvangelder / Jacob vG / White 05 Sti / SCCNH # 28, COMSCC #281, SCCA #??

I plan on being at 8 of the SCCNH events unless im to broke for comscc's june plamer which ill do the sccnh instead, also hope to do 1 if not both scca schools as id like to try my hand at club racing. As for Comscc, im not planning on making mosport as i think it would empty the coffers and leave me with watching racing on t.v. for the rest of the season, besides that i plan on doing at minimum 1 thompson, 1 palmer and 2 nhms's. No idea what com class ill be in as the cars under the knife to be nasa/scca legal, with slicks i think ill be t90-t100 with the power i have now. As for SCCNH class, i don't think ill be legal in any class points wise, ill just hoon in race pax'd as a go-cart or something, as for ner scca club racing, i believe ill be in ITE until i have what i need to be in SPO

if you have an SCCA legal car you can run in ITEZ and if you are looking to get started without going through SCCA's licensing process (which includes a physical and school) you should check out the club racing experience that is now being offered....PM me if you'd like some more details.

Members list updated. Thanks to all who are actively supporting this thread!

Looking forward to Palmer this year! After attending the open house I'm itching to try the course at speed once the whole facility is finished.

This December my girlfriend and I drove the Evo down to The Great Smokey Mountains in North Carolina. We stayed in Robbinsville and if anyone's is familiar with that town you'll recognize thats where the famous Motorcycle resort "Deals Gap" is located. Which also means...

I spent two separate days on "The Tail of the Dragon" (US-129) that runs the mountain pass between TN and NC.

318 turns in 11 miles.

Probably one of the best experiences I've had in a car. I highly suggest a vacation there.

After spending 2 hours each day there (one in the wet, one dry) I'm a little less worried about Palmer. The road has a lot in common with Palmer. Take a moment to look up some videos! Its voted one of the best driving roads on the East coast.

Any thoughts on the upcoming event list? Yes, no?

-Alex

I personally didn't use the upcoming list as i have my own list, but that's just me.

Id like to drive the dragon at some point, i was unaware until this past fall that they actually have hill-climbs on it at times

Georgethefierce, i will be pm'ing you later as I have questions on ITEZ and it sounds like you can answer them

Looks like a couple brown board members here, cool.

Looking to try Palmer this year, an event at Thompson and NHMS as well. Might make it to LRP. A stretch would be making it to Watkins Glen.

jnwc / Justin C / Silver 05 350Z / CART #??, FCSCC #??

New to the Hartford area so I'm not quite sure where I'll be racing other than CART and maybe FCSCC. I ran the last CART event this year right after I moved up here, and they seem like a pretty relaxed club.

I'm still trying to decide if I want to run the Z in Street/Stock class this year or STU. It all depends on the budget, of course.

In regards to the other topics in this thread... I'm all for the upcoming events list, and I'm jealous about Deals Gap. I thought about hitting it up on the move up here, but I ended up with a compressed time table that resulted in a 1400 mile drive set between Saturday afternoon and Sunday evening. About 25 hours of actual driving. No time for Deals Gap in there.

Couldn't find any track pics, so how about a pic of my toys in the driveway at my old house?

Dave, that is just wicked.

Put me down for a slot in BS #66. - SCCA (just this year as I get the car sorted). '00 S2000 White. Won't be there for the 1st few events as I rebuild the whole front suspension.

Thanks!

I own a couple of Montes. It's a bit of a problem.

I'd love to take this one but I don't know if it'd pass the sound check at Devens.

As long as we are all sharing photos, I'll contribute the only photos of the EVO doing something other than sitting in the garage. Traded in the STi at the end of October. Looking forward to racing something different this year.

Some screenshots of my trip to Deals Gap.

Right after I read this yesterday I was opening some mail and there was an envelope from Mitsubishi... It contained my "Mitsubishi Roadside Assistance" membership card and welcome letter.
