You'll be thrilled with the results!

Brad, I did a clutch on a 911 once, and that was actually the last straw. Euro cars are designed to go together once. And if you don't think Porsche cars need special tools, I invite you to come check out my friend's shop Autobahn Performance. I've never seen so many specialty tools in my life haha.

Also, Max, I agree, Sara is just too old now. No more fun :-(

Andrew, you are lucky that you can convince her father to buy that stuff!

So if 19 is too old, what's that make Chrissy?!? Maybe I need to upgrade to a more recent model? The 1982 is getting old!

My wife was born in the 60's! I guess I should get antique plates and only drive her on the weekends.

My Subaru is a joke to work on compared to those cars. It might need more routine maintenance, but I also don't have to spend a fortune on special tools either.

That said, Euro cars are nice to drive.
but it makes up for my gas mileage..

sti-- city 10-12mpg
335i-- more tq and comfort. 18-19mpg

Believe it or not its a lot of work upgrading to a new model every year. I think I'm more into owning this one than leasing it, plus the newer they get, the more complicated they are.

lol 1994 "model" haha

I've done a bunch of clutches in my older porsches with my handy craftsman tools. There were a few nuts and bolts that had to be replaced because I wrecked the heads with the wrong tools, so I see your point. But the frequency in which I have to fix something is a bit out of control. Keep in mind I have 38k on my car. I don't think I've owned any European car with less than that. I've never sold one with less than 200k. This is the first motor that I have issues with so I'm kinda bummed out. But I still love the car. I must be crazy!

No, your not crazy. I see that a lot, the more unreliable the car the more die hard the fan base. (as long as when its running good its worth it)

Older Audi's/VW's were a joke to work on too. I'm talking more recent. I wouldn't touch one with a 10 foot pole. They suck to work on.

Also, you got a lemon it sounds like. Subaru has a problem with the pistons for sure, but there are plenty of new STIs and WRXs w/o any problems. My WRX made it to 150k before burning a valve. Problem free for the most part.

Every manufacturer has their issues. My dad's Audi Allroad fell apart at 100k. Transmission died, all the control arms had to be replaced, the airbags in the suspension all developed leaks, and the compressor died from trying to fill them all the time.

On to other news...Sara is young. Discuss.

I would still drive carefully in the snow. Met a guy last year who had a brand new AWD mercedes with studded snow tires. Met him when he rear ended me.
We were only going 10 miles an hour... just couldn't stop

Crystal from Planet Subaru called to tell me that cylinder 4 is a bit "out of round" and they have ordered a new block. She said it would be finished by Saturday! Holy crap that is fast. They must have a pretty good parts guy (remotehuman = partsrobot) finding them their stuff! The last time it was in the shop for 7 weeks and all they did was 1 piston. I can't wait to give a great review to Planet but I will pending the return of my rig.
