Hey guys,
I just picked up my first subie.. It's got a bunch of parts I barely know about.. But my problem is. Whenever I try and hit first gear even second and third past 4000 Rpms it like sputters like the turbo idk if it needs a tune or if the computer has a 2 step or maybe has something to do with turbo timer... Idk Last owner just replaced the turbo with a new sti turbo. Any ideas?

Two things could be going on, your car is in limb mode. Or you car needs a serious tune if you have lots of upgrades with no tune....ex. upgraded injectors.

Yeah there's a check engine light on it...I'm not sure about stock ecu.. It
Might be a stock ecu.. And yeah has new sti turbo pink injectors.. I mean the last owner said it needed a tune to run good it's still drivable but when I try and rev it it sputters so I was just wondering if because of needing a tune or something else... By the way check engine light popped camshaft sensor...knock sensors... And all cylinder misfires... I replaced everything.. It seemed to drive better the spark plugs were bad on it.. But the only thing is reving it hard |

If you are running a stock ECU and upgraded injectors, your car is going to break up when reving high, your ECU doesn't know what to do with all that fuel being dumped. Sounds like you need a tune. What year/model do you have?

Yea you need to get that thing tuned right away. You are not going to be able to do anything until it gets tuned.

Hi, I just upgraded to stage 2 cams and cam springs on an 03 wrx that has an intake intercooler race radiator exhaust and rebuilt heads. My engine does the same sputter. I am scheduled for 750ccinj and fuel pump install with a tune. will the tune fix this sputter?

Check for a vacuum leak... I had a similar problem once and it turned out to be the vacuum hose to the waste gate actuator had become disconnected
