Default Free wiper blade replacements?

Someone on here a while back said that their subaru dealer gave free wiper blade replacements, is that a universal thing, or did they maybe have some sale thing going on at their dealer?

If not, what wiper blades should I get for my 2012 2.0 hatch?

Wiper blades are covered by the New Car Limited Warranty for 3 years/36,000 miles. Usually the dealership replaces the wiper blade inserts, not the frame.

I liked the Bosch Icons I had on my car the last couple years. I recently replaced them with Rain-X Latitude blades, and I like them too!

On the other hand, I've had good luck with Trico insert replacements for stock frames as well. Cheaper. Plus, they are more environmentally friendly because you don't end up chucking the entire blade away.

Wiper blades are covered under the 3 year/36,000 mile warranty. My car is 8 months old. The stock blades started to smear. I really don't care for the old style blades. I picked up some Goodyear beam blades from Costco for $7.99 each. They work great. I feel they perform just as well as the double the price Bosch Icons.

Have any of you figured out how to remove the rear wiper blade? I don't see a release tab, like on the fronts.

Blades are cheap, I would just replace myself. and I hate to sit and wait for service in the dealership.

I always clean the blades with some Windex, this will make them work better and last longer, sometime it just the dirt on the blades that make them smear.

Mine are 100% completely missing nearly a square foot of my windshield.

Also, I emailed the local dealer/service center to see if they do replace them for free.

Sounds like they installed the wrong one, should be 24" Driver side, and 16" Passenger side.

No /facepalm
I mean they like squeegee dirt over nearly a square foot of where they used to just wipe clean.
