Default i'm new here...

this site was recommended by my friend, who owns a '10 wrx.

i plan to order my 2013 wrx tomorrow after i finalize pricing. i'm still a little awestruck that these cars are almost all special order.

anyway, this car will be my daily driver. the first time i'll have a car all to myself in the last 20+ years. i won't have to re-adjust the seat every time i get into it.

waiting 12 weeks for it will be maddening...

well, here's the deal. i talked to one dealer who was an old racing friend of mine. she told me that it takes up to 12 weeks to order a wrx and this was the best way since i could get exactly what i want.

i was about to dial her number back and order a plasma blue 5-door wrx with the short throw, spt exhaust, sirius radio and the floor&cargo mats (literally had the phone in my hand) when another friend called me just to see what's been happening.

after i explained, he said that he knew there was one on the lot at a different dealer by him, so i hung up and called. they said they got it on monday and sold it on wednesday (i called them thursday), but there was another one way the hell up by flint (michigan). so i called them and arranged to come up for a test drive.

white 5-door, short throw, auto mirror w/compass & center console.

so, i get there and realize i was talking on the phone to a VW saleswoman and she had no idea what a wrx was and had only a slight idea of how seldom they sit on a dealer lot for any length of time.

suffice to say, i bought it. BUT, i had to order the spt exhaust with it (they said they would call when it comes in).

so, since it's been dark each time i had a sec to take a pic, i have none at the moment. also, since the wifey doesn't like white cars (stemming from our AF days stationed in japan, where 90% of all cars are white) she's been calling it the "sperm mobile". i will take and post a pic today, if the forum will allow it (not quite sure if forum rules permit such a new member posting pics).

cliff notes:

almost ordered plasma blue 5-door wrx.
called around and found a white one & bought it.
spt exhaust ordered and paid for.
wife calls it the sperm mobile.
working on posting a pic.
thanks for having me...

Me too White costs more money with many mfgs but Subies does not charge more they just make fewer of them. It is the fastest selling color

Stay with us and tell us all how much you love it (more and more each day - like your wife)

Funny you wanted plasma blue and got white. I was looking for white but bought plasma blue. I couldn't pass up the deal. It had an SPT exhaust on it.

sooooo... ordered some blizzaks from tire rack on monday, got them yesterday and had them installed at a local belle tire today.

got the, "why didn't you buy your tires from us?" pitch at the tire shop. well, let's see; your store takes 2 weeks to order them, tire rack had them at my door in 26 hours. your tires cost over $100 more EVEN AFTER i calculate mounting and balancing. plus, you refuse to negotiate on the price. i'll keep going to tire rack, thank you...

then, my sales lady from the dealership calls and says my spt exhaust has arrived, so i made an appointment for monday to get that installed.

all is going well with the car. i do find that when it's really cold out the car doesn't like going into 1st or 2nd gear until the car warms up.

oh, a dude i know (who's girlfriend i work with) asked me via her text msg if i was interested in buying an "unmarried 2.0 access port for WRX". anyone have any idea what this is, what it does and how much it should probably cost? apparently, it's from cobb tuning and he had it for his 11 wrx before he traded it in on a jeep...

www.cobbtuning.com is where to go. Download the manual and all the map notes for your car and read them. I could sum it up in 5 sentences, but engine management can blow up your car so it is DAMNED important that you read and decide for yourself if you want to take this step. Do the work, do your part, and do not take any shorcuts....start reading.

What Mr Bomber said. And if I'm not mistaken, version 3 is the Accessport you want, not version 2.

Your wife claims its a sperm mobile.

Your new here so look at faqs that are stikied if you have any questiona. It has everything you want to know.

You dont want to ask blindly on forums. Congrats on the car. There are a lot of white sti's out there than wrx. Wrx is more like a rally blue kind of car to go w bur whatever!

I wish they kept gunmetal around for the newer years or PBP :/
