The autox was cold and wet, but still a good time. My WRX was suprisingly neutral with the Traction control off. Most of the time, rotation could be encouraged with some left foot trail-braking.

Throttle by wire and brake assist boost are offically the suck

I'm finally back in town, still haven't had a day off work since the 6th. Maybe I can make it back out soon.

Hey guys I'm planning a mountain run for this friday leaving Greenville around 10am. Not sure how long the run will take because I'm still planning it. I'm also going to extend the invite to a few other groups that I know do mountain runs. Let me know if you're interested.

I may be interested. I can't be gone all day though. About what time do you plan to come back?

nothing is set yet but I was looking into atleast a 5 hour run. There is a common loop that I nomally do up there and I would like to hit a few other roads which may push it to 6 or 7 hours. This is usually consisting of quite a few breaks for pictures or just to relax for a few seconds. I also need to see if the parkway will be open. If everyone needs to get back early I can plan a shorter one.

Also everyone that comes should have a walkie talkie. It's by far the best way to communicate and is great for anouncing police, open left lanes in traffic, gas breaks, etc... They are only a couple bucks from walmart and I usually have a spare incase someone's doenst work or they forget one

Id prefer an earlier start (8am) and something that gets done before 2 pm Personally. Saturday would be even better. I'll try and make it no matter what though even if it's just for half of it. Def get something mapped out and planned and I'll be there.

A supervisor up at Windstream... Business internet, and since businesses don't close, we gotta stay staffed... It's a holiday for us, but I'm still working as we have to maintain a certain headcount at all times.

Haha very jealous... The wife is pretty hard against most mods since we got the extended warranty on the STI. I'm still going to do some work to it, but not likely that much to the engine until I can convince her into it... :-(

All my mods (except the Cobb stage 1 tune) are suspension mods. Those shouldn't mess with and drivetrain warranties and shouldn't cost too much if something in the suspension breaks which shouldn't happen

Yeps, I fully plan on doing suspension, brakes, wheels... Stage 1 or 2 is where the hard part comes in. Also looking for some good light options for a little more personalization. Would love to be full HID/LED...

There are quite a few write ups for his conversion, I would like to pick up some spare head lights and try a retro fit. Some of them can be costly like the s2000 projectors which look amazing.

Also might be a customer of yours lol, I help out accounts payable and have seen the Windstream name quite a bit.

I'm willing to put some money in it if it looks nice... Not to sound so common, but angel eyes look nice as heck... I've just got no mechanical skills at all, so I'd have to either buy a set and shelve my stock lights or send them off to get done haha... Pretty much every STI I've seen on Lightwerkz.net would work. Being new to the scene, I just gotta do some research for (reputable) places around Greenville, Asheville, Charlotte, Atlanta area that I can start a relationship with and start... :-)

But hey... having an STI is half the fun... The other half is making it yours... the way you can customize these cars to tailor your specific taste is why I went with an STI vs a 335i or Mustang GT. Sure, they got mods too, they just don't make me feel the same way...

Ok guys here is the mountain run that I have planned. It's not set in stone but it hits some roads that I have never been on but look really good. The plan is to stop in Highlands at some awesome bbq joint for lunch then head back. Google says the whole trip takes just under 5 hours so if you account for lunch and a few stops plan for just over 6ish hours. There are good gas stations at a few places along the way but you should fill up at the meeting point (Spinx in Marrieta at 8am). We will leave at 8:15am. I will have my walkie talkie on channel 5 once I get to the Spinx and my cell number is 843-870-7907. Post up on here or text me if you plan on coming so we don't leave anyone behind

there are a few of us on here that have no problems turning wrenches and modding them ourselves or helping others. I've been in the custom car world for close to 20 years and have no problems with lending a hand with anything you got. don't be afraid to ask, and i'm cheap. I can't always afford to work on my car so sometimes i just really want to work on something so i have no problem offering a hand.
