Wow, I've been waiting to see what the 2-series is going to look like and I have to say, I love it. It's too bad the 1-series coupe is turning into a 2-series; just another way for BMW to charge more for it.

M2.... does that mean the 1 series is going to follow suit with their current naming scheme and become a 4 door? I guess this could also be one way they solve the issue of tarnishing their precious M1 name (like they give a damn about name heritage any more... Oh look! An M3! Or is that a 3 series with the M package...).

I don't know what's what with BMW anymore. 3's look like 5's but are now 4's and 5's look like 7's and 6's and now there's 2's which might be 1's. The whole thing's a mess and despite them making nice cars, I lost interest.

And yes, a want an M hatch as well (although I think the M135 hatch looks pretty crappy, despite its performance). A decade+ old overpriced M Coupe is not getting it done.

1-series: 2-door hatch 2-series: coupe and convertible version of 1-series 3-series: sedan 4-series: coupe and convertible version of 3-series To justify charging more for the coupe versions of the 1-series and 3-series. I would love a 2-series coupe with the N20; downpipe and tune and I would be a happy camper. |

Also, let's not forget the 1 series will soon include FWD models. The RWD hatches will be top of the line, sport models.
They have to respond to the Audi A3 and MB A class somehow, and they claim RWD just isn't cutting it in terms of space efficiency and production cost. |

I somewhat feel the same way. I love BMW and they are my favorite European luxury car, but I feel like they are making crazy and desperate attempts to bring back previous bmw owners who went to audi.

And bamm, BMW can make a much cheaper vehicle, sold at nearly the same price. Could it be that the U.S. will not get a 1 series here anymore? Only the 2? |

Arguably a lot less-ugly than the new 1 (sans cat belly). Not sure how they could have made it worse, but they did. |

Seriously, by far the dumbest looking BMW in ages. I am so glad that they are ditching that headlights for the US bound 2er.
Now only if they can refrain from putting that fake engine noise maker and actually tune their intake and exhaust.. |
