"use it to learn about tuning cars"

What are you looking to learn about? Going to be hard pressed to learn about ECU tuning (turbo and the like) from an NA car.
What's your end goal?

If your goal is to learn about suspension tuning, call up Turn In Concepts and talk with them about some parts to order up. But getting a set of coilovers is a good start, so long as they have plenty of adjustability to learn what differences preload, camber, dampening, etc. make on the ride quality and handling.

And congrats for filling out your profile.

There's an NA forum. I'd start there. Read up on mods you can do for power. Unfortunately, there's not a huge amount, as in the end, you've got a 2.5L NA engine (09 is still 2.5, right?). Exhaust, cams, intake. sure, you can upgrade that stuff. But honestly, you're better off spending your time and money over in the Suspension and Brakes forum. Go buy a nice set of tires, and make it handle like a Miata.

Yes it is still 2.5 liter.

Performance wise, i was thinking of an engine change in the future (all about being unique). I think i would go for Cosworth 2.5L core but im not to sure about it. (It seems to be a subject left alone or someone being told to just get a WRX)
