Yes we absolutely suggest using an oil sandwich plate adapter for installing the oil cooler. This provides the ports for oil flow to the cooler. Our sandwich plates utilize a high quality o-ring to seal at the block and dowty seals for the individual fittings for the oil lines.
If properly installed there should be 0 leaks with this system and it requires no additional maintenance. We do recommend checking the fittings for tightness when it comes time to change the oil on your vehicle.
