Did the 1995 and earlier 2WD Subaru's avoid torque steer?

I don't have much experience with older Subaru's.

One of the biggest problems with FWD is the torque steer. Were the FWD versions of the Subaru's significantly less susceptible to torque steer because of the symmetrical layout (even with an open diff)?

You wont have any issue with that with the FWD Subarus. If it's a FWD subaru, it's most likely an N/A and I can already tell you that it wont produce enough torque to give you torque steer lol.

The 1985 Subaru XT (1781 cc, 118 HP) aka the Atari car was 4WD. Normally you ran in front wheel drive but could kick in all wheel drive by pushing the button on top of the joystick aka the shifter. It had minor torque steer, but not bad.
