Default DPT Motorsports Y-pipe?

Anyone ever use this ebay y-pipe company?

Trying to source a good y-pipe to replace the one I keep blowing out at rallies :/

Funny this is in here. I bought one to see how it fits with an STi I/C swap I'm doing. When it comes in I'll be sure to update this.

For 40$ it can't hurt to try...

I would definitely get better gaskets than the one pictured, if those are the ones really provided with the y-pipe.

So It came in the mail on wednesday or some where around then. Took some pics out of the box which i will post up here shortly after I find the cord for it.

I just got married on Thursday then had to evacuate my town saturday so life's been a blur.

As for initial impression. For $40 probably worth it. The casting is ok at best. Internals are not super smooth and the seam seems... Not great. The silicone pieces it came with were pretty nice same with the t-bolt clamps. Gaskets like the guy mentioned above are just as pictured. And not great.

When I get a chance to test fit it in I'll update this thread again. But pics will be up shortly.

If you're worried about this one blowing out just get the red metal Y pipe sold on ebay. It's a copy of the APS unit for far less money. The entire thing is metal except for the hose connecting to the turbo outlet. This reduces the number of points where air will want to "escape".

I'm currently gasket matching and porting my pipe. It's casting quality is fair but not great. Mine came coated in I don't know what kind of paint so I'm going to strip it and repaint it with a ceramic paint and then wrap it with heat reflective tape. That should cut down on the heat soak issue.
I also ordered OEM gaskets because they're far better than the paper gaskets it came with. Those things are garbage.

Yeah it's def gonna be a trial and error type of situation with this like all eBay parts. As for the gasketsI think I'm going to go with "the right stuff" and try that route and see where it takes me. If it does leak or blow out then on to the next one!
I hope to have at least some test fitting in the car tomorrow night. I'll try to remember the camera but the y-pipe is late in my install plans so we'll just have to see.

hey sorry yeah, i can update a little bit, It's ebay so it's crap, but it doesn't leak as far as I know, the fitment is fine on to the intercooler, I have a bugeye with the sti intercooler and a vf39, so fitment would depend on whatever you personally have done. I had to trim ALOT of the elbow to make it fit, but it eventually did. The silicone hose in the joint of the Y pipe itself is off by a little bit, one side fits ok the other side its a little loose, Its the aluminum that the problem. it's pourous and rough and thats why i felt it didn't seal all that great in that joint area.

i used emery cloth and a bunch of time and i smoothed out all the ends so they looked like polished aluminum rather than how it comes looking like it was wrinkle paint coated.

for $30 or whatever its for sure to get you moving if you need it, otherwise if i could do it again, I would have kept my Ypipe from my stock intercooler and used a full silicone piece to make it work.

I run just under 19psi and it hasn't blown off yet or cracked so I would rate it as typical eBay product, you get what you pay for.

Definitely not bad for $40. I have the grimmspeed gaskets since I originally installed it. I had used silicone gasket stuff at first. The ones that come with it are trash. Just to note I never tested it off the car to hold air. Like plugging an end and running compressed air into it. Hind sight I should have but it seems to be fine. So my technical write up is only as good as my everyday experience. I really gave the t clamps hell so it shouldn't leak.
