Default electronic boost control

I have a few questions that may seem stupid to some but we all have to start learning somewhere.. Basically im wondering what upgrades i need if any do i need to properly run an electronic boost controller and what would be safe boost numbers to run on the stock turbo.. As of right now im running an aem cai and soon ap with perrins stage 1 map and a greddy spectrum elite cbe.. One last question... Does anyone have any links for any other companies offering stage 1 maps for the ap... Sorry for the stupid questions

Grimmspeed 3 port electronic boost control solenoid and a tune. Maybe 21 psi. Torqued performance has staged maps with EBCS that are more aggressive then cobb.

First off, fill out your profile. We don't even know what car you have.

Secondly, you're just as likely to "void" your warranty with that intake. (More likely actually) And to add to it, you cannot get your warranty voided. They can DENY you claims if you modified it, but not void it entirely.

You'll want to get a tune specifically for that intake when you do eventually get one. You cannot just flash a map that says X intake if you have Y intake.

To run ANY 3 port bcs you need a tune for it specifically. Adding a new BCS does not up your boost.

Read Unabombers manifesto and start learning before you end up breaking something.

Ahhhh....the folly of youth.

1. Know you have to research the dogcrap out of even the most simple of parts.
2. You are lamenting warranty. If you want a warranty, DO NOT even think of modifying your car. Pay to play is the concept when you futz with your car in the warranty.
3. You have not read any of the sticky threads at the top of this or any forum, do so now.
4. Forget 100% of your old car knowledge as almost none of it applies to Subaru. For instance your stock intake is actually really good, so by putting on an aftermarket you are probably doing unseen harm as it may not throw a code or run rough, but might be running dangerously lean and you usually don't see dangerously lean until the time that the motor lets go and your are staring at a $5000 repair bill.
5. You have a long row to hoe here and it starts with EDUCATED modifications and so far you are failing the educated portion, please return it to stock, decide on your route, educate yourself via here and your tuner (and no this isn't something you can DIY) or just keep it stock.

Step 1. Read Unibomber's response. Now read it again. That man knows his isht.

Step 2. Ignore that dealer, he is an idiot. Never follow their advice as they have very little say in warranty work. The damage you are risking is real. Worst case scenario, you blow the motor by running lean. That dealer now has to contact Subaru of America (Subaru of Canada in your case) to approve warranty work. Once the dealer tells them you have the CAI that claim will be DENIED as fast as the representative can type it.

Step 3. Correct, DO NOT RUN THE INTAKE WITHOUT A TUNE FOR ANY AMOUNT OF TIME. If there are no tuners in your area, you can get an e-tune. I will not go into specifics, that is for you to research and know if it is what you want or not.

Step 4. RESEARCH EVERY PART YOU WILL PUT ON YOUR CAR.
