Hi all, here is my 2011 Impreza 2.5 Premium hatch.. getting ready to do some mods. Here's what I've got so far

Pretty well stock - I've tinted the windows and got the color matched grill and a few other little things here and there.. My plan is to find a 2008-2010 rear WRX bumper and same year range WRX side skirt things, as well as the front valance. Oh, and the WRX rear wing for the hatch. I've already researched what it would take (nothing) to install the mirror blinkers.. Anywho - if anyone knows a good area (or has them) for those parts, I'll be on my way to making it look the way I'm interested in making it look. Also, I figure I'll learn more performance stuff on the way.

Anywho - excited to do more. Thanks all.

03/03/2013:

Some new modifications as of this weekend included my new underspoiler. Changed the look of the front end quite a bit..

and I just installed my new Forester 4.5 inch LCD stock stereo. So far very happy with it. Has a great startup screen and gives it a more upgraded feel..

06/27/2013 - finally finished my painted WRX/STI wing. Lots of work went into the paint but now its done. Looks rad if you ask me:

look into suspension mods, it will be a lot of fun to drive with a more sport less rolly suspension. also look into different wheels, unless you like the stock ones.

kartboy and whiteline are top of the line for suspension (endlinks, swaybars)

OZ makes some very nice looking wheels that most people like.

as far as performance, you would be best just getting maybe an intake, full exhaust, and maybe lightened pulley, and a tune.

thats all i can think of, good luck! its a nice looking car!

Thank you! That's one thing I forgot to say is that I've got some unknown aftermarket exhaust on it. My brother's friend gave it to me that upgraded the 2.5 inch piping to 3 inch and got rid of that second muffler/resionator, and made the muffler 1/2 the size of the original.. as well as a nice tip. However, after I find that WRX bumper I plan on going to a dual exhaust setup (i LOVE how it looks). The aftermarket exhaust just gave it a bit deeper sound, but nothing near where i'm interested. I love the throaty wrx exhaust so I'll probably end up with someone's discarded to upgrade to something else.

You could always trade in this and get a great 04/05 WRX or STI

I was debating that, too.. but I think I'll just play with mine. Its got a 5 speed and all the amenities subaru has to offer (best stereo, seat warmers, sunroof, bluetooth, yadda yadda).. I think it'll be a fun project when it's done because I haven't seen anyone do what i've been interested in doing..

like i said for aftermarket whiteline makes the best sways.

you could probably get a wrx or sti rear sway and it would be a huge upgrade. make sure it will fit before buying though

I have no doubt that you can have a very comfortable, well handling car. What are your thoughts thus far on power limitations?

Power so far with what i've got feels pretty good.. my brother's WRX was god damn fun.. but since i'm not planning on racing or anything i'll just deal with making it comfortable during driving and good looking.

SWAY BARS! once I put whiteline 24mm 3 way adjustable bars under my car with their aluminum endlinks i lost my mind. such an awesome feel. The install is a little bit of a hastle ( at least for me ) but so worth it. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED. They do squeak a little after a while due to the polyurethane bushings so grease them up super good before you bolt everything back on.

That throaty sound comes from the unequal length headers that turboed subarus have. Your naturally aspirated and have equal length headers so you won't really achieve that sound. Now this is a very large generalization but they way I always explain the difference is the unequal length headers are like a nice 4 stroke dirt bike and equal length is like a 2 stroke.

Get some sway bars, and good tires then find a driving school.

you knnnnoowwww... i might be out of place saying this, but there's so much "i want this wrx piece" or "i want that wrx piece" that it may just be worth it to bite the bullet and trade it in for a WRX.

I had a forester i tried to mod like crazy to get it to become an XT... after awhile i realized 'who was i kidding? i cant change a NA engine into a turbo engine ' and completely traded it in for an STI (not an xt :P)

as for performance... well, it's not like a turbo engine where some simple mods would net huge amounts of HP. The HP gains on a NA engine with simple addons wont yield any amazing butt dyno experience, anything beyond that, then it just be cheaper buying a wrx in the first place (ie port and polish blahblahbalh).

as for exhaust... on my forester i had swapped out the exhaust for something a little more throatier, and a larger diameter, only to loose a lot of front end torque because NA engines need backpressure. the increase in topend torque was nonexistent. That loss of 'off the line' torque was REALLY disappointing ANNNND this before i knew about the UEL so i didnt get that natural subie sound. anyways, i went back to stock.

Just a heads up, the dual tipped exhaust you like only came about in 2011 for the wrx hatches, along with the wide body. In other words, the rear bumper cover wont fit. unless you are willing to cut your bumper you won't be able to run the dual tip.
Also I believe the pipe and flange layout is different on NA imprezas, so if you are willing to cut your bumper you may need an exhaust shop to fabricate something that would fit.

Really? I thought there was a dual tipped version in 2010..?

Small update:

After some research; absolutely correct - the 2008-2010 WRX is single exhaust only and went to dual when they went to the wide-body in 2011. Some members have edited the 2008-2010 WRX bumpers to hold the dual exhaust and made it look amazing.. so I’m not ruling it out yet.

Just purchased a CP435L1 (below)

(that'll be here in a few weeks) and the front colormatched underspoiler. Looking into some sway bar designs right now, as well.. And decided not to sell/trade for a WRX... I’d lose my shirt on the deal and am happy with good gas mileage and comfortable payments till I get a raise or 5 at my job.

What I want now is either that rear WRX bumper (color doesn’t matter) or just to get an underspoiler (E5610FG000B7) for the rear.. (has anyone seen one on a subaru? What do they think of them?)

What I am interested in purchasing immediately is the rear hatch wing off a WRX/STI and the side skirts off a 2008-2010 WRX. Both will need to be painted – but I can take care of that. (Here's what I’ve been also working on lately)

Good times.

i think you might have fitment issues with the rear bumper as it fits to the body panel that blisters out a little (unless you're talking about an '08wrx):

Love that dodge btw!

Edited front page. Did some modifications this weekend:

and I just installed my new Forester 4.5 inch LCD stock stereo. So far very happy with it. Has a great startup screen and gives it a more upgraded feel..

Crappy picture.. but you get the idea.
