Default Fresh Beginnings

So I started my new to me 02 WRX last night. I bought this car in October 2012 and I am just now getting to drive it. I work at an indie on foreign cars and between three Porsche builds and my wife and 3 kids its taken a while. This was also the fist time I have ever worked on a Subaru and while I'm no stranger to the boxer every one takes patience. I don't want to split the case because of a stupid mistake. I also pnp-ed everything, heads, exhaust, turbo (both sides), and throttle body. This thing SCREAMS! Coming from a 20 yr old Toyota paseo I'm sure everything is fast but really, massive automotive boner. So the #4 conrod spun a bearing for unknown reasons, and I replaced the crank, conrod, all bearings of course and all associated parts, etc.
Btw, does anyone know where the fuse for the fuel pump is, alldata doesn't list one...
So after a good hour of warm up, and getting everything to play nice I did a few laps, and wow! It was cool, but not as cool as when I got it on the dirt roads around my house. I never knew how a car should behave on the dirt.
Note to anyone reusing connecting rods, if you are replacing just one, which I did, you will grind off about 18 grams of weight before you even get close to the right weight. I am not building any extra hp so the stock units were fine, but a gram scale is a necessity. Didn't use any crazy jigs to remove side loading, just put it on the scale and rechecked after the bearings were installed. I also rechecked the piston and rod assemblies after they were paired. The 3 originals were EXACTLY the same weight, kinda amazing. I have never driven a car that is so effortless or smooth at 7 grand. The idea of all 4 tires spinning and making smoke simultaneously just makes me smile.

And now for a couple years of worry free use of my new to me super Scooby. My only regret is that I couldn't drive it before the rebuild and all the pnp so I can't see how much I picked up, oh well, I will just have to live on this honeymoon high for as long as possible.

No, no tune, I havent done anything but pnp so I didn't figure I needed one. I really did enjoy it, though I'm in no hurry to do it again, at least on mine. I would gladly do it for pay
