Default WOOHOO Just put deposit on STI

EDIT

"I posted below back in SEPTEMBER 17th 2002"

As of last friday the dealers in Western Canada have been informed that the STI and Turbo Forester will be here in April/May 2003.

Subaru of Calgary is taking $500 deposits. First in gets first choice. Guess who's first at my dealer

Price is expected to be between $45k to $48k which is less than expected.

So if you think I'm BS call Subaru of Calgary
1 403 571 3099 and talk to LYNN.

Sorry no specs as yet.
With the cost smaller than expected I would think that something is gone. I just want 6 speed, forged pistons, diffs. If there still in I'm in. I can withdraw my deposit at any time.
BTW
They just want serious potential buyers to be on the pecking order.

As of 7:00pm tonight there is 3 people with money down.

I emailed my dealer with your original post and she told me she knows the dealer you dealt with in question. She emailed her regional boss but as of yet has no info. I do believe you by the way.

Default Well this is the response my dealer got

Monique [my dealer] just wanted to answer a few of your questions. Yes is was announced at the sales meeting in Vancouver last Friday (Val was there so this information is not second hand) word does get around fast doesn’t it. We will be receiving in Canada the STI and Turbo Forester next year, your were asking about when the memo was sent out well none has been as of yet as I said it was just announced on Friday in Vancouver. As to answer your question about production capacity I cannot give you an answer also reqarding your mention of pricing there has been no pricing confirmed so if your friend here want to put a deposit down at an assumed price of 45-48K great I just hope someone (Not Subaru Canada) will garrantee him that price. Hope this helps. Hope this helps.

Ray [Regional Manager, or something like that]

to back up the thread starter......Car and Driver's latest issue states that the STI will be in North America next spring. I think they put the expected hp figure at 260+. I'm sure that they have SOLID inside sources.

The latest issue reviews all changes for car manufactures.

Angry Same problem in Montreal!!!!

They say the car will show up for dealer trials only in may 2003, and that it will be on the market in 2004.

Can't be certain at 100 %, they may be keeping some things under wraps for now. Yet I did hear the manager talk about a twin turbo on the motor...

Any ideas anyone ?

UPdate
Some info I've received lately on Canadian spec STI

Shimless valves YES
NO CAT in uppipe
UJ injectors NOT Denso
The flow ratio of STI injectors is 534cm3/h for North American spec. Side flow type injector is used for STI to improve access ability due to discontinuance of green brackets of death.
Intercooler reservoir on right side behind rear seat. It was stated for the canadian spec car the water bottle would be part of the windshield water bottle. It would seem testing up in Alaska with reservoir in back is OK if you leave it less than 1/2 full during cold periods to allow expansion due to freezing.

The STI's production only started in March, the deliver date to Canada for retail units will be early June.

We have Subaru of Canada on our board at the Toronto Subaru Club and many of our members have already had their deposits into Marino's since January.

To find out more information about the STI and the delivery dates, you can click below: http://www.toronto-subaru-club.com/c...t=ST;f=18;t=15

keep an eye out on the tags below the avatars, you'll see who the SOC rep is.

Hope this helps.

You are correct about production

My STI's build date was 3/3/03.

I cannot believe you guys are so behind on this:
http://www.wrx-sti.ca/

BTW, they have been taking deposits since Nov.2001. For some even earlier. Much of the 2003 production is already accounted for, but since it will be a regular model in the line-up, there will be no cap on production. For as many ppl are willing to pay, FHI will build them.

USDM STI PDF Part files.

Only been correcting and updating some information
Shimless valves, nice eh!
Wish the injectors were DENSO 555cc as you had posted elsewhere not UJ 534cc.
Intercooler reservoir on right behind seat.
No Cat in the uppipe
Maybe you should read thru some of you posts here
http://forums.nasioc.com/forums/show...1952&highlight

See you at dealer training day 5th 6th.

Really sorry to hear about your car.
