Default Using JDM Plate Holes

Hey guys,

Looking to drill my MA license plate to fit JDM holes so I don't need to drill in USDM holes. I am looking for someone to link me to the expanding threaded rubber pieces (grommet?) that will fit inside the hole so that I can secure the plate to the bumper. I don't know what they are exactly called and have been unable to locate them in any hardware store.

Thank you for any help,
Chris

Home Depot has what are called brass expansion nuts. I just bought a pair to install a plate delete in the JDM bumper holes. I went with a 9/16 size, and it was a nice snug/secure fit.

Here is a link to their website:

Hope that helps!

Do you know who sells the "WRX" license plate delete as shown in that picture?

You use the two factory holes in the bumper to hold on the brackets and then the plate bolts to the brackets. No drilling.

I would just spend the money on Totsubo mounting brackets.

this is probably the closest forum i've seen to cover the holes. I was just wondering if those home depot expansion nuts are plain/smooth on the outside. or if there's a plug i can get somewhere. I bought a license re locater to put where the front tow hook is suppose to go. I don't really wanna put a STI plate or anything in place of where the jdm plate is suppose to go, i just wanna plug the holes in with white. if i have to plasti dip the plugs white, that's fine, but can anyone direct me to the right forum or the right bolts/plugs to get to just simply plug the holes in? thanks.
